Here are the pics of each style. One has a different larger CG pattern and all the others are the same common CG fabric pattern. The plate dimensions and cutouts are the same on all the plates. There are 9 total. The finish is not the best. There are some places where it isn't perfectly smooth as if the fabric isn't completely covered by the resin. I'm sure that won't affect the functionality of seat bottom (and pilot) protection. From a short distance away you wouldn't be able to see the finish imperfections or that it's CG for that matter. Looks much better than the ratty worn seat bottom on by buggy. I'm going to get some velcro cinch straps for installation instead of the bungees and kite straps I found laying around the garage.

Hi guys, happy to see the plates !! what a mess to send a package via the french customs :( :( :( :( !!! awful ! i ll take a private transporter next time, even if it is more expensive for me !!

Yes the plate will do his job, that is to protect , first your seat and second, your ass :D, there s like said bob some difference on somes plates, it doesn't change the mechanical caracteristics, it depends of the carbon, sergé or taffetas model, to get a perfect glassy plate ( not a real interest under the seat, just for the feeling at the unpackaging), it is first, very difficult, and also , the price won't be the same for sure, i do it for somes carbon palms, like here ( http://www.rgz-sub.fr/index.php ) , cost 2* price, so 100 euros for a plate is too much (in my mind) for an accessories of kitebuggy.

There 's now 40 plates running on the beach and dry lake with no problems , just think about not putting the front of the plate too down to the ground, think about putting it more higher at the front ( neck) than the back ;)

Thanks you all, and hope maybe see you on a beach or even why not, one day at the NABX, dream spot !!!!

Very cool Bobbie. Let me know what we need to do to get this all done. You did a great job with this whole messy transaction. Thank you.

BeamerBob - 17-7-2013 at 03:36 PM

Hey guys. Even if you have told me before, can you please send me an address and if you are part of any shared packages/shipping charges? I found boxes that I can cut in half and are the perfect size and make a very secure container. I have some boxed up and am boxing some more of those that I'm sure are 1 per box.

I've made a spreadsheet on the money side of things and I'll let each of you know what your shipping is once I get the amount. I looked at my paypal history to make sure everyone gets proper credit. Dirtslide sent cash and he got credit too. Total cost per unit delivered ended up at $81.94. If anyone wants to know where they stand on money so far, the spreadsheet has it all calculated out.

I'm not sure what Dragonfly meant when he said he sent 2 extras. There are only 9 and they are all spoken for counting the one for me. I've been paid for 8 that I ship out.

dragonfly carbon products - 18-7-2013 at 12:08 PM

Extras are coming, you can also talk to me directly on the post :D easier !

dragonfly carbon products - 25-7-2013 at 11:11 PM

Hi guys, so every one get his plate?

rocfighter - 26-7-2013 at 05:49 AM

Where is the spread sheet? And what do I do next?

BeamerBob - 26-7-2013 at 08:03 AM

All plates ship out today. They are packaged, with labels printed. Shipping was around $10 for everyone. The Canadian package has to go to USPS with forms to fill out but it goes out today too.

Roc you are short about $3 but that's with the fedex shipping estimate. Sometimes it goes up a bit and sometimes it goes down so let's hold off any money shifting till we have the final number. I can give money details to anyone that wants to see the breakdown.

dirtslide - 26-7-2013 at 09:56 AM

Thanks Bob .I was so happy when we decided that you would handle this project, you have done a excellent job .:D

BeamerBob - 26-7-2013 at 10:01 AM

I've been a bit of a procrastinator at the large shipping project but away they go. Thanks for the patience.

I have Fedex tracking numbers for the US shipments. I can text you a picture of the receipt and you can figure out which one is yours and follow it along if you like.

rocfighter - 28-7-2013 at 02:50 PM

Thanks a lot for all of your work on this Bob. As soon as you know the amount let me know and I will send it right out to you.
Man Chris was so wrong about you :P Just kidding. But you can give him a hard time about it if you like!!

BeamerBob - 28-7-2013 at 02:57 PM

Anything nasty that Chris says, I take it as further indication he still loves and misses me. He's one of those real true friends that don't come along very often.

rocfighter - 29-7-2013 at 09:03 AM

He is a good friend in deed. And an all around nice guy. And yet I still like him :P

Nice looking rig there. If you had 'two' of those, one could be for travel (L@@KS) and the other of course protecting your ars... LOL

BeamerBob - 8-8-2013 at 06:36 AM

Slide, what did you put around the rim of the plate?

dirtslide - 8-8-2013 at 06:47 AM

Gerald and I felt that the cut edges of the pan were quite sharp so we found some very thin auto edge trim ,heated it up a bit and wrapped the outside of the pan with it , there is a adhesive inside the trim that locks it to the pan. I can get away with the chrome look but wish it had been black .look for it at any auto parts store. Bobby what do you think of the wheel covers ,also will be picking up the seat cover today .just need to get some number plates from Darksky kites and this project is finished.:cool::smilegrin:

rocfighter - 8-8-2013 at 04:55 PM

Thats a great idea. I may look for some of it. Did you have to prep the pan before you put on the decals?

sand flea - 8-8-2013 at 05:52 PM

Top notch as always Bro!
are those tire covers ? are they heated too?

Lookin' forward to seeing you and Mrs. Slide soon!

Wait, do I understand correctly that you have some extra carbon plates for the bottom of a buggy? This thread is really hard for me to track, for some reason. Anyway, if you do, will they fit my VTT Custom Bug? Since I've taken to riding over cactus and cowpies lately, that could be just the thing I'm looking for. Someone shoot me a pm if you have an extra and want to sell it or talk about it.

Thanks!

dragonfly carbon products - 9-8-2013 at 12:18 AM

Verified yes it can fit a VTT custom Stinger. You can order direct from Dagonfly (single unit or as needed). Dragonfly has provided me a thin maybe 1/16" inch thick plate slightly pitted /scratched at a fraction of what most want for CF here in the States. More or less 26"x16" with the chamfered corners and a cutout for the neck as well.BTW I expected a much larger plate.... this will basically cover your assets and protect your High Quality VTT custom seat. Ends at the seat does not reach rear axle. I may source a different material for the Cricket and keep my CF plate on custom Stinger because I expected the larger pattern CF and received a smaller pattern lacking bling technology. Looks like black plastic.Bought it for bling(not) but keeping it for utility(totally). This piece will do the JOB.b Enjoy.

tdmc96 - 10-8-2013 at 09:58 AM

I just picked my pan up from Dirtslide last night and it looks GREAT!!
A big thanks to Beamerbob who set this all up.
I still have to bling mine out a little before we get her mounted but all in good time.

Cheers all
Ken(K3)

BeamerBob - 10-8-2013 at 10:16 AM

You're welcome guys. It wasn't a problem to handle this.

It's cool to see the possibilities these present. I'll be bringing a bit too. Mine will certainly make contact with the ground so decals will get beaten up. Better than beating up the seat and me for sure though.

dragonfly carbon products - 26-8-2013 at 04:15 PM

hi guys ! got somes news ? all packages arrived ? did you ride?

BeamerBob - 27-8-2013 at 08:39 AM

Everyone has theirs now. I have mine mounted but want to do a better job to make sure the front edge doesn't catch. Hoping for a buggy gathering in 10 days which will be my first session since getting the plate.

dirtslide - 27-8-2013 at 04:20 PM

I will make you up the front webbing and Velcro if you want ,you will have to drill and rivet it to the plate after I send it to you.

BeamerBob - 27-8-2013 at 04:38 PM

That would be awesome dirtslide! That's way better than any of my scenarios I've come up with.

dirtslide - 27-8-2013 at 08:40 PM

ok I will use mine for the pattern and sew some up for you Bob.
