abkayak - 17-12-2014 at 06:54 AM

heel fast ...i see what you did there, nice
im sorry Mrs. Spencer and family but...
didnt see this thread going this way..im figuring its just gonna take a while for it to have a happy ending
as for the wife and kaboshes (my spelling)on flying/bugging thats not to be tolerated if you know what i mean
you can give up drinking or or smoking or any of your other bad habits whatever..
this stuff is part of your personality and this is just a big bump...you will be back on the horse soon enough
so Spencer milk this thru the holidays make the family wait on you hand and foot :D
and im hoping Santa gets you a new kite for Christmas

40mph will be had:thumbup:

You guys know the true happy ending to this is for both of you to meet your goals.

And on the wife issue, I badly sprained my ankle right after I learned to buggy and might've (ahem) twisted the story a little so as not to draw attention to kites and buggies. Crutches and air cast for probably 2-3 weeks. It was at least a year before I approached "healed". A break might actually be a quicker heal than a soft tissue injury.

Thanks for all the kind words Gang...

I myself am seriously considering the ramifications of our activities... My livelihood comes from my ability to do physical labor, so serious injuries affect more than just myself... I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but the dollars I'm going to have to put into possible surgery and medical treatment are going to hurt and have me giving serious thought to how to proceed.

I hate this for you. I feel your pain in regards to the financial side of injury. My wife had to go to the er recently for kidney stones and it cost us $6,000.

soliver - 17-12-2014 at 01:52 PM

About to get a CT scan to determine if I need surgery

Best wishes to you.

Spencer, I feel your pain! I broke a rib this summer and it was 8 weeks until I could get back out and fly again. The pain was the easiest part as waiting to get back out nearly killed me. I hope you heal fast!

TEDWESLEY - 19-12-2014 at 10:12 AM

Get better Spencer we want to see you at JIBE again !
I've been to the "what now" place before and am still here. We learn from experience and dial down the limits a bit.

I'm hoping for the best outcome for you.

soliver - 19-12-2014 at 12:28 PM

Yea... Dialing it down is definitely in the cards... Ashli & I have been having some serious conversations about that.
