:singing: I'm dreaming of a windy Wildwood, just like the ones I used to know. :singing:

Todd - 8-5-2010 at 07:23 AM

Gear has been shaked down for problems and all is packed except the car. Moving on to re-stringing the seat for the buggy trailer and then off to Lowe's to make another camera mount. It'll keep me busy but I had buggy videos playing on the big screen to keep me stoked

bugymangp - 8-5-2010 at 09:04 AM

i`ll be bringing a lock and chain.

WELDNGOD - 8-5-2010 at 10:48 AM

Im anti seizing all hardware ,everything has NEW bearings , even the landboard.

WELDNGOD - 8-5-2010 at 11:27 AM

I have 1 alloy buggy rack, good for 1 not too heavy buggy. It fits a 2" hitch reciever. I will bring it to sell if somebody wants it. Also have an alloy tandem trailer w/ no seat yet. I was thinking about putting a window net for race cars on it for a seat ( I found em' for 20 bucks). I will bring that also . So if you are in the need ,I might have your solution.

Maven454 - 8-5-2010 at 11:34 AM

I'll have a PL Folding buggy at WW that will be for sale. $250 if anyone is interested.

bobalooie57 - 8-5-2010 at 02:32 PM

I went to the runway today in high, gusty wind, mostly to try the Windskate with the buggy again. I did get it working, accelleration is frighteningly fast, and even with a strop mounted on the cross bar to hold on to, takes the strength of samson to control. Some folks had stopped to watch, but after just a few turns, I was spent, so I went over to see who it was. A local family, looked like Dad, and brothers, and little guys out for a day together, saw me working the wing and stopped to watch. I told them I was new to the wing, I usually used a kite, and they wanted to see that. I posted this here because I talked them into taking some video with my digi-cam, and ktguru wanted to see recent vids of us flying. The mini OBE is thanks to a timely gust. I showed one of them (Jake, I think) how to fly, and that's him at the end of the vid.

rocfighter - 8-5-2010 at 02:55 PM

Very nice Bob.
I wanted to fly today but 25-35 with 45+ gusts Tomorrow may be a bit gentler. So I may try then.

kteguru - 8-5-2010 at 03:21 PM

Sweet 2 wheel action Bobalooie:thumbup:

bobalooie57 - 8-5-2010 at 03:32 PM

yeah, now I just need to figure out how to do it when I want to, and how to hold it on two!

flyguy0101 - 8-5-2010 at 06:45 PM

Joecat and others- if interested i can bring my lcd projector and laptop and we could use it on saturday night to project some of the videos you guys have. I have set it up outside before for movie night (projected image 10 feet X10 feet or bigger if the wall is big enough) all we need is a light colored wall (or white sheet). Cant wait til thursday
Scott

lad - 8-5-2010 at 06:51 PM

hmmmm...projector nigh recaps...2 wheel riding (and even an in-transit tyre change)...starting to sound like my memories of NABX!

kteguru - 8-5-2010 at 06:53 PM

Many thanks flyguy!! That sounds like just the thing we need for Saturday night:thumbup:

Todd - 8-5-2010 at 07:05 PM

Sounds like a plan Scott, thanks! Party on the second floor at my place! This would be a good thing to happen right after the drawing for the goodies.

looking good Bob! Digging the mean green

rocfighter - 9-5-2010 at 04:11 AM

If not enough wall space I can congure up a screen. I think 5X5 or so. I'll check on it now.
Ok I checked it. It's about 4X4. If not to small I'll bring it along. And it's an antigue so cool to look at!!

shehatesmyhobbies - 9-5-2010 at 02:06 PM

Trailer is all loaded, kites are hanging and locked. I reinstalled my redneck mudflap. Tomorrow going to pick up new camper and get it inspected. Tons to do before Wed.

Weldngod I remembered I had a strap seat for an older pl buggy, I am going to bring it to see if it will fit in your tandem.
Could possibly be interested in the tandem.???????

See you guys soon! Can't wait to hang out and hit that awesome buggy fantasy land!

WELDNGOD - 9-5-2010 at 03:51 PM

bobalooie57 - 9-5-2010 at 03:58 PM

bobalooie57 - 10-5-2010 at 10:29 AM

So I was playing around with the paint program and I came up with this, gonna put it in the back window of my truck! It's kind of small but I thin it works.

scott

Todd - 11-5-2010 at 05:47 AM

T-minus 26 hours and I'm on the road! Equipment checked and re-checked what else is there to do but to sit and wait? Oh, I guess there's always work.

ragden - 11-5-2010 at 05:52 AM

Doh. Still need to pack the car tonight... heh. Course, the wife wants to do some last minute shopping. Figured it would work better if I didnt have a trunk full of buggy stuff BEFORE went shopping. Groceries fit a little bit better...

Hey Todd- are you guys bringing your water boards/gear as well? I was debating, and hadnt decided yet... Just wonderin...

Todd - 11-5-2010 at 06:01 AM

No water boards this trip... dedicated to the Buggy Bash only.

power - 11-5-2010 at 08:02 AM

I'm so jealous, one more talk with my folks tonight but I don't think it's going to work out.

Tibi - 11-5-2010 at 09:20 AM

I just booked my rooms at the Apollo. I'll be there Friday morning. Can't wait to see everybody.

cheezycheese - 11-5-2010 at 09:29 AM

Hey Power what happened, thought you were in there...?

lad - 11-5-2010 at 09:44 AM

Power,

Tell 'em at home not to worry about you. You need to stay over with someone whose bringing his family. That way, the mom/wife can tell 'em she'll keep you from finding trouble!

She can even borrow their hair brush, hickory stick, or whatever they use at home to keep you in line!

bugymangp - 11-5-2010 at 09:47 AM

is it friday yet.
nice stunt kite!!! can you buggy with it?????

bobalooie57 - 11-5-2010 at 09:52 AM

Don, short notice, but if you bring one of those 'rope' light set ups in GREEN of course, I'll surely buy it from you!

Kite Light

Several sets will be available

bobalooie57 - 11-5-2010 at 10:09 AM

Will be so cool for a night fly! If I dare!

EDIT: I prolly shoulda got pink, but the green fits the theme!

ragden - 11-5-2010 at 10:10 AM

Thats awesome. I bet that will look pretty wild to see a few of these streaming down the beach in the middle of the night... :)

bugymangp - 11-5-2010 at 12:11 PM

night buggying is cool
i did it many times at nabx.
for those of you wanting to try it.
try this next time your day buggying.
when its safe. close your eyes and see how long you can go without opening your eyes.
i did that too at nabx. its really wild buggying with your eyes closed.

rocfighter - 11-5-2010 at 01:02 PM

How much are those lights? I have several sets of lights for the single line kites. But nothing to play with the buggy and power kites.

you wrap that around the lines or the kite itself? it looks like its just el wire...whoever said they wanted some this sould get get alot of el wire and stick to the kite, down the lines, and around themselfs with the battery pack in their pocket
http://www.glowproducts.ca/catalog/i190.html
also heres something else to think about(but it seems more expensive then glowsticks)
also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrnLF04qmsM

oh and turns out if you mircowave your glowsticks for 10 seconds they get brighter http://www.metacafe.com/watch/869110/make_your_glow_stick_su...

EDIT: what day do yall plan on doing a night flying session? (ill be there thursday and saturday it looks like)

EDIT2:if anyone has a spare set of flying lines they want to sell lemme know, i may need a new set for my 5meter kite....

rocfighter - 11-5-2010 at 01:53 PM

I saw this wire at Newport kite fest abute 5 years ago. Really cool stuff.

Todd - 11-5-2010 at 05:16 PM

Welcome to the bunch LostFox1, I just remembered that the Apollo has a grill but I don't know if it's set up yet. I'll ask tomorrow when I check in then give you a call. I would be down for a good BBQ in the evening.

bigben91682 - 11-5-2010 at 05:18 PM

shehatesmyhobbies - 12-5-2010 at 06:22 PM

O.k. Rick and Paul from up north were first to the Apollo. Rian and I showed up not long after. Todd and Corey showed up 15 minutes after we did then Dean showed up just as Rian and Ipacked up from a few quick passes on the beach. Winds picked up as we were packing. We all wentout for pizza then returned to watch Dean make some nice two wheel passes before it got dark.

Not to rub it in! See you guys soon

Todd - 12-5-2010 at 06:34 PM

Sitting back chilling with Paul and Dean talking kite, great end to a great day. Look for Christmas lights and banners and you have found base camp Apollo.

Beach shot from Corey.

Tibi - 13-5-2010 at 08:18 AM

Wow, nice wind today... not that strong, but great direction. For tomorrow the chances of rain got smaller, only 30%, but the wind direction doesn't look that good: SW at 13mph, right along the beach. We might need to move on the North Beach.

lad - 13-5-2010 at 08:21 AM

I might get down there tomorrow - maybe Sat.

Meanwhile, can any of you guys angle into one of these beach webcams?

dtoast - 13-5-2010 at 12:47 PM

Great news...MBS replaced my truck under warranty and it just so happened that my dad was in Colorado Springs where MBS is located and picked it up (shipping was going to be 5 days or extra for next day delivery) Instead I'm getting same day delivery as he’s on the plane now headed back. :bigok:

I can't focus on my work anymore, I just want to leave for WW.

cheezycheese - 13-5-2010 at 01:49 PM

Home from work. Packing the car and I'm outta here, see you guys in a few
