I say keep it another week so that you get to fly it speleopower - 12-2-2008 at 05:47 PM
Cool! Thanks. I'm hoping this kite flys well. I"m just leary of the bridle lines. If it seems to be holding up well I might pick one up for casual
ATB riding. I don't want to kill my Blades and Competitions on chilled out riding.

Finally got to fly the kite for a minute tonight. My brake lines were way off for this kite. It would climb but I had to point the brake end of the
handles toward the kite. I'll make some brake line extensions tonight for it.
One note the wind was super light and the kite would barely take off even with the brake lines not quite right. What got me was one of the local guys
was actually out kitesurfing in the ocean on what I think is a Flysurfer SA 19meter. I've not talked to the guy in while so I'm not sure but there
was barely a breath of wind. I gotta get a Silver Arrow 19 or better yet the 26 meter!

Finally got a chance to fly the kite in moderate wind (10-15mph). It did ok. I was about to hit the water with it. Unfortunately when I walked to
the beach there was a bunch of fishermen up and down the sand. I would have gone downwind with the ktie but it would have been fun.
All in all it was a better experience than I expected. Still not happy with the bridal lines at all.
Overall I am happy with the way the kite flies static. The kite had only one bad tendancy. When you let tension off of the lines quickly the leading
edge of the kite folded down towards you causing the kite to collapse. This could be a problem if your cruising in a buggy and you steer down wind
quickly.
Mabye this afternoon the wind will pick up and the beach will clear off. It's a beautiful day today hence the crowded beach. 86 degrees 10-15mph
wind 2-3 foot waves and pretty warm water. No wetsuit or shirt needed.

Hey! I probably will not get another chance in the near future (next 2 weeks) to do any kite flying.
Who is next on the list? Please pm me your address and I'll get the kite out to you as soon as I can.

Sound good kullas.
Then we'll end up the Ace demo with Motman.speleopower - 21-2-2008 at 06:06 PM
I don't think I'll make it to the post office until Monday due to my work schedule. With the new heavy development around where I work it takes about
1.5 hours to goto the post office during lunch now! :ticking::ticking: Then I won't get lunch!
Scottspeleopower - 26-2-2008 at 06:11 PM
I've not been able to get to the post office so far this week! The bosses have
kept me in the office. Hopefully, they'll send me out and I can drop the kite off. It's boxed and ready to go.
Scottspeleopower - 27-2-2008 at 04:28 PM
Finally the kite is in the mail! ScottBeamerBob - 27-2-2008 at 06:25 PM
I can't believe the ace is still on the world tour. I know I had a great time with it. Very noble of you Davinch.Sthrasher38 - 27-2-2008 at 06:40 PM
So did I.SecondWind - 27-2-2008 at 07:32 PM
I'm glad you guys had fun with the Ace! I'll work on another demo kite after the Ace and Comp 90 are back kullas - 27-2-2008 at 07:44 PM
DaVinch,
I see ya got a 8.3 Reactor comming. I got to fly one the other weekend. that is a sweet kite.
I have never flown a Ace but as soon as it arives I to will be able to say thanks for letting me fly it SecondWind - 28-2-2008 at 07:58 AM
Hello Kulas,
I should have the Reactor by the weekend
{Edit} The UPS man just came to the door
Let us know how the Ace is holding up.
Wonder how many hours are on it now (it was new in Jul 07)??speleopower - 28-2-2008 at 04:25 PM
Well, I only put about 30-45 minutes of time on it. Unlike the Blade IV 4.9 meter where I put about 12 hours of flight time on it in one weekend-I
intended to buy it (which I did) so I wasn't worried about putting time on it. The ACE was nice but not really my cup of tea. If I have some spare
cash for a spare kite for friends to fly on occasion then I'd go with one.
See ya-Scottkullas - 29-2-2008 at 11:55 AM
I got the Ace in the mail today. the weather should be good this weekend temp 58, wind 8 to 10, sunny. should be a good weekend to flyspeleopower - 1-3-2008 at 09:21 PM
Glad you got the kite. Hopefully, the weather is good for ya and you can give us a good review.
Later-Scottkullas - 3-3-2008 at 04:53 PM
I got the Ace out yesterday and the wind was 5 to 6 mph and to tell ya the truth i realy didnt care for the way it flew. I guess there was just not
enough wind. I took it out today and the wind was 10 to 15 and this was a total different kite. First of all i used Kite Killers. would not fly with
out them. Was getting good lift and with my other kites when i would get tired i would just fly to the top and rest a sec. No rest for the weary here
so would have to land it. I weigh 195lbs and got snached one time picked up
about 6 ft and to my suprise was let down easy. I did have a problem with the kite overflying me and turning into a botie maybe im just not used to
the kite. So for me I am glad i got to demo the kite. I liked it but not enough to buy one. just not my type of flying. Thanks for the Demo and a big
thanks to DaVinch for putting this kite out for demo. The kite is still in good shape a little dirt here and there but nothing that cant be cleaned.
looks good and ready for the next person to demo.

Kullas-you hit it on the head with your review. The kite was just ok. Nothing special and did a few weird things aka the bowtie easily. Overall it
flew good but if you have the choice between a Blade or a Pansh then I'd always go for the Blade. It would make an ok beater kite and I still might
get one for friends to try so they don't crash up my good kites.

Ok, Motman is the last one on the list Sthrasher38 - 3-3-2008 at 07:22 PM

It was a fantastic kite and it changed the path of my quiver. I've moved on now but it was an eye opening kite for sure. I hope its still in good
shape when it comes home. It might be fun to trace its path on a map over the last 7 months or so. Thanks for your generosity Davinch.Sthrasher38 - 12-3-2008 at 07:20 AM
Me to thanks Davinch.SecondWind - 12-3-2008 at 10:54 AM
No problem - I'm glad we started the demo programs here!
We've had a Pansh Ace, PKD Brooza and Combat (thanks to Pablo), Flexifoil Blade IV and a MBS Comp 90 so far Sthrasher38 - 12-3-2008 at 05:54 PM
Big thanks to pablo also!!Baluk - 12-3-2008 at 06:38 PM

Got the Ace back today - it looks great!Sthrasher38 - 18-3-2008 at 05:16 PM
Ok, I don't want to hear anymore of the Aces not being able to hold there own. That kite went to hell and back. form nebws to experienced kiters as a
demo. and still made it back in good shape. For what they cost and can endure they are worth it. IMO.kullas - 18-3-2008 at 08:40 PM
