Sullivan's Island

Great day at Sullivan's. Nate, Tridude's son, was setting up when I got there about 11:30. Wind was already 15+ mph. Took a while to find the "groove" but it finally showed itself when went to the smoother water in the inlet as the tide fell. Managed to keep the Synergy dry all day! I need to work on doing a better job staying upwind. Couple of walks-o-shame to my credit. Quick check on the wind gauge as I was leaving showed steady 17mph with 20 kites in the air. (All inflato's)

Kept an eye on Nate for some pointers. He was killing it - lots of improvement since the last time I saw him. Tri has taught him well! Or, maybe Tri is learning from Nate????

ENE at 20 mph at the moment......................forecasted like that for today and tomorrow...............Sullis will be rockin.........................:duh::duh:

met Bob at Sullis around 1:30.........................winds were 8 to 10, sandbar was huge today.........................first we took the 19 SA outside with the door................Beamerbob is no longer Beamer body drag........................winds got up to 13 to 15, BB on the 15m Synergy, I was a my 12m Speed 2.....finished up a great session on Bobs Synergy........................was great to see Bob again and watch him going well on the water....................:duh::duh:

What an awesome site and day! I'll never forget today. That 19 SA is a #@%$#!cat. Nothing to be afraid of under 15 or maybe more. That baby has some torque though. Finally gave me that "lean back and ride" feeling.

Worked upwind when powered up today. Did a few sliding transitions where I stayed out of the water. Did one jump accidentally on a transition and didn't land it. Maybe I'll do better if I actually intend to jump!

tridude is a most gracious host. Very accommodating on the schedule, and generous with his equipment. I wouldn't be able to now consider myself a kiteboarder (newb, but still) without all his help. :bigok::duh::duh:

We need the wind, kite, board stuff..................... Let us know what you used and what you did with it and how it worked out for you...............................:duh::duh:

12m Speed 2........... winds were 14 to 16 when I got there 17 to 19 when I left.................incoming mid tide so the sandbar submerged duruing the session.....................nice runs in the waves..........butter section over the sand bar, and finished off with some airs...........stretched ring lines to specs and retuned the mixer...................she flew great

the Avando and S2 were seriously lit..................the Rev is a bully.......goes/does as it wants too.....................:duh::duh:

easterlies this weekend which is doable but could be a sandbar weekend with the Bigfoot and the new addtion Flexi Bullet if the winds get up............:duh::duh:

sweet mid afternoon session............................winds were onshore at 17kts........................13m Rev on the 139.....................cruising up and down the shore line, off and off rain showers, full on fun.............................:duh::duh:

Big surf forcast for the weekend from the Atlantic storms. Wind forcast is 10 or less with a long period swell (12 to 14 secs). I'll be on a surfboard with "no strings attached".

forecast is down a bit as Cat 4 Danielle moves north and east of Bermuda BUT swell should arrive late Saturday thru Monday..........winds are forecasted Saturday ENE @ 15 to 25:wee: 9m Rev and Phanny wind........

east @ 12 to 13.....................swell wont arrive until late this evening/tomorrow.........slight change to the change, Ill be there by 130 2ish......Nate will be down there around 11.............................hope to see you and Mel this weekend........................put MGATC on a Rev he'll be a changed man...................

sweet session this afternoon...........................waves on the outside/flat water inside...................Phree was on the scene which was icing on the cake.........................at least 50 kites on the water and another 30 on the beach...................................great day and session and good ridin with ya Phree.................

winds were down this weekend..............seems Earl sucked the winds away last Thursday BUT there was enough for an awesome 2 hour sandbar buggy session....................ESE 6 to 9 kts, 12m Speed 2, and PL Bigfoot buggy...................................

That High pressure system sitting on top of you guys leaves you with little wind but has given us solid on-shore breezes all week long, 10-20 mph. Johnny Laing and I shredded the beach last night with solid 14-16 mph direct on-shore. He was working his 3,5 Blurr like mad and I was breaking the back axle loose with the Phantom 15. I left to go home to empty the doggies and he was still riding. I pulled over on Beachview drive and caught this pic of his kite over the dunes framed with the full Harvest Moon. Dark and grainy but all I could manage in a hurry.....

Halloween session that was def a treat......winds 14 to 16ish on an outgoing tide........choppy and unorganized outside the sandbar but fun none the less.....the 12m Wainman was/is awesome..................rode down the line what was ridable. popped a few jumps and called it a day......board shorts and neoprene top still in play but wet suit weather is almost here..........................this was probably our last warm weather/water, SW/SSW wind till next April.....................oh well back to the wetsuits and thank you Angus for the selling the Bigfoot..............:duh::duh:

started at 6pm and finished around 7................cloudy so no moon but the tide was mid going out and the white water gave you sandbar reference and the town lights in Mt Pleasant gave plenty of light heading back in...........................1 glow stick on the harness, 1 on the board grab handle and one on the leash lanyard on the kite........................saw a couple nice size dorsal fins..................shark or dolphin not sure

good lookin forecast starting Wednesday thru the holiday weekend........water and or buggy friendly..............water, sandbar or the beach................anyone?

nice pre Thanksgiving feast on a 14 to 16 ENE earlier this afternoon..............nice butter sections mixed with waist high swell outside the sandbar...........the Wainman owned it...................sweet sweet kite ya'll..........................Friday is forecasted for a mini-nuke so fingers crossed.....:duh::duh:

it was on at Sullis today outside the sand bar..............winds slight side off 18 to 20 kts and the 12m Wainman is now dialed in and loaded for bear............landed a couple huge 360s ramping off wave faces...........great sesh........Mgtac/Phree wish you could have been here!!!
@Phree, spoke with JP on Friday he says hello.......................

SSW 18 to 22 kts and the night kite was on...................9m SS Rev weapon of choice......sweet sesh inside the sandbar with some nice jumps.....Nathan ripped it up on his 10m Vegas and Cabrihna custom board...............................If you havent night kited you need too!

followed up today with an early afternoon buggy sesh with the 12m Phantom and 9m Rev......................uploading vids as we speak and will post shortly...............couple of uneventful OBEs.......................:duh:

Sunday am forecast is SW 20ish to 25, low tide at 0600, air temp 60, water temp 58....................any SOFKAs up for an early morning sesh.......................................:duh::duh:

SW am gift, 15 to 20 kts........incoming tide, flat on the inside, shoulder to head high rollers on the outside, all were lit, 12m Wainman on fire!!!

awesome gift today..................SSW, 23 to 25 mph..................tide was out so all the action took place outside the sandbar and in Breech Inlet............Go Pro vid from this afternoon in edit mode....................

back on the beach today as the #1 kite monkey...........................awesome for the soul ......................ENE onshores tomorrow could bring a 12m Phanny/buggy session but I think the wife might choke me..............................:duh::duh:

just received a facebook message from Kitedog and he is planning a Saturday trip to Sullis..............................with this trach in Im stuck to the buggy.....................anyone else game for a sandbar/water session? Actually, if I stay inside the sandbar and keep my head above water with my valve on.............................:o:o
