Great day at Sullivan's. Nate, Tridude's son, was setting up when I got there about 11:30. Wind was already 15+ mph. Took a while to find the "groove"
but it finally showed itself when went to the smoother water in the inlet as the tide fell. Managed to keep the Synergy dry all day! I need to work on
doing a better job staying upwind. Couple of walks-o-shame to my credit. Quick check on the wind gauge as I was leaving showed steady 17mph with 20
kites in the air. (All inflato's)
Kept an eye on Nate for some pointers. He was killing it - lots of improvement since the last time I saw him. Tri has taught him well! Or, maybe Tri is learning from Nate????tridude - 28-6-2010 at 05:21 AM

Sorry I didn't make it but Mel, I've got your Neo pretty much dialed in with the 5th line after a lot of tweaks. I keep getting chased off the beach
by afternoon boomers. No sparky sparky for me!PHREERIDER - 28-6-2010 at 05:34 AM

Sorry I missed everyone. Things got a little crowded later in the afternoon, place is abuzz with boats, bathers, kids, and kiters! Inlet at low tide
was the place to be.
Don, sorry about not calling. Nate said you were working around the house and that you might be out later. Once I left the beach, I never came back
across the sandbar until it was time to go home.
Angus, prolly just as well that you didn't make the trip. The sandbar was rideable but crowded. We'll work something out with the kite.
Phree, thanks for the kind words. Expect a call soon to field a few questions.BeamerBob - 29-6-2010 at 10:29 AM
It's looking like I will be able to tap into some Sullis magic on Sunday the 11th. I have my synergy 15 with me so hope the winds will give my a good
day with it. It'd be fantastic if it turned out to be a group event.Hardrock - 29-6-2010 at 12:21 PM

met Bob at Sullis around 1:30.........................winds were 8 to 10, sandbar was huge today.........................first we took the 19 SA
outside with the door................Beamerbob is no longer Beamer body drag........................winds got up to 13 to 15, BB on the 15m Synergy, I
was a my 12m Speed 2.....finished up a great session on Bobs Synergy........................was great to see Bob again and watch him going well on the
water....................:duh::duh:BeamerBob - 12-7-2010 at 09:53 PM
What an awesome site and day! I'll never forget today. That 19 SA is a #@%$#!cat. Nothing to be afraid of under 15 or maybe more. That baby has
some torque though. Finally gave me that "lean back and ride" feeling.
Worked upwind when powered up today. Did a few sliding transitions where I stayed out of the water. Did one jump accidentally on a transition and
didn't land it. Maybe I'll do better if I actually intend to jump!
tridude is a most gracious host. Very accommodating on the schedule, and generous with his equipment. I wouldn't be able to now consider myself a
kiteboarder (newb, but still) without all his help. :bigok::duh::duh:Hardrock - 12-7-2010 at 10:39 PM

Excellent Bob. See you back in Norcal.
What are the water conditions you are boarding in? Is it smooth or choppy with waves? How deep were the waterstarts?BeamerBob - 13-7-2010 at 11:23 AM
Hey AD. I needed a couple feet at least so I wasn't really sitting on the sand. We mostly rode outside the sandbar in choppy surf.tridude - 13-7-2010 at 12:56 PM

you can landboard and bug on the sandbar at low tide................gotta stay off the beach......................Bob and I had a nice session off the
sandbar last month............................BeamerBob - 25-8-2010 at 08:47 PM
The sandbar is HOOJ! I can see what he's talking about regarding buggying out there. You could get some nice runs for along time. Not many toddlers
or puppies out there either. It's kind of like "international waters" for kiters. Plenty of room for launches and landings too.kiterformeerlyknownas - 27-8-2010 at 05:15 AM

Tri, gonna be in CHAS SUNDAY , looking to ride.
have to leave around 5pm, not sure of the tides.
any breeze there?acampbell - 24-9-2010 at 07:02 AM
That High pressure system sitting on top of you guys leaves you with little wind but has given us solid on-shore breezes all week long, 10-20 mph.
Johnny Laing and I shredded the beach last night with solid 14-16 mph direct on-shore. He was working his 3,5 Blurr like mad and I was breaking the
back axle loose with the Phantom 15. I left to go home to empty the doggies and he was still riding. I pulled over on Beachview drive and caught
this pic of his kite over the dunes framed with the full Harvest Moon. Dark and grainy but all I could manage in a hurry.....
PHREERIDER - 24-9-2010 at 07:10 AM
nice , here its been ESE mostly 10-12mph. South GA still very hot! cooling on the SC coasttridude - 24-9-2010 at 09:59 AM
right now the forecast is a bit dodgy.............NOAA is the only one calling for wind Sunday, south 10 to 15. I will say that if the direction is
south or SSW we will have wind. I spoke to Angus yesterday and if his forecast is more solid by late saturday, we are off the JI on
Sunday..................
so for right now we will be here Sunday but subject to change.............if the breeze comes in we will see you around 11 at
28.5............................tide wiil be low at 430pmPHREERIDER - 26-9-2010 at 06:39 AM

we were out at 28.5 yesterday............................I was going to do a surf and turf. I took the buggy on the sandbar and noticed alot of the
fellas walking back upwind so I stayed on the sandbar with the Phantom....had some awesome speed runs................OBTW I understand starting this
week flying inside the sandbar (water) will be prohibited. Launch and land only................There was a kite/sunbather incident as I understand
it.......not sure how inside the bar will work at high tide so more to come.PHREERIDER - 27-9-2010 at 06:25 AM
during hi tide , no one hangs in the ditch, must have been LABOR day crowds.
i have to say running outside is where to be.
its a dense spot. if everyone HAD to do solo launches and land their on junk. i think things would be safer. kiters would HAVE to HAVE control
of their rig AND select appropriate area.
liability awareness, so weak in some mindstridude - 27-9-2010 at 06:51 AM
I agree, outside the bar is the place and yes on kite control...............probably another wild rumor since the beach is almost empty these dayztridude - 1-11-2010 at 05:25 AM
