Kudos to Sam for some of the funniest internet photos I have seen in a while...

I felt like I was looking through one of those emails that has been forwarded 900 bazillion times and ends with a joke about Barak Obama or some phrase like "... now if you want to have good luck, make someone smile and forward this to 500 of your closest friends...":lol::lol:

The Symphony 2.2 comes with 100' / 220 lb lines. I have to think that for lines to snap like that, there was some external influence here, such as a nick or some other damage. The 2.2 is a healthy and powerful foil for its size but not enough to snap such a line set without some defect or excessive wear. If it is a new kite with low time, I would inquire with your dealer.

HQ offers 2-line sets in a variety of choices such as 115' x 310 lb and 80' x 385 lb.

You can carry spare lines but you should not expect to need them unless you let them wear out (as indicated by fuzziness) or get some other damage such as a nick or a knot.

Peter Lynn makes some nice sleeving kits for line sets that you can use to quickly restore a line set, albeit a bit shorter.

My kite bag includes bottled water, sailing gloves (open finger tips) ground stakes, sun-block, and 2 first-aid kits (one for me, one for the kite).

The first aid kit for the kite includes Tear-Aid, spinnaker cloth tape, knife and small 1/4" plywood board to provide a flat surface over which to apply repair tape.

abkayak - 10-9-2012 at 11:52 AM

always have at least 3 or 4 extra kites w/ you...... cigarettes and hard candy...... thats how i roll.

WELDNGOD - 10-9-2012 at 01:35 PM

I always got plenty of gear with me. Smaller low/med aspect kites for people to demo.,and some bigger ones for those who are experienced. I have quite a few handlesets and x-over bars with several different linesets. After a while you will have more kites than you know what to do with. As a sponsored pilot,I try to have plenty of demo stuff with me. You never know when someone will show interest, and if they do,I WILL hook them up! Just doin' my part to spread the bug:frog: Oh yeah, water,GPS, several digital cameras. And of course, some wind powered, wheeled vehicle!:wee:

yep, what WELDNGOD said.

I also have a new 3 buggy rack for the hitch and a canopy to cover the 8' bed and all the bags filled with, handles, lines, stakes, accessory packs, kites, boardz, bearings, helmet, wheels, tires, kites, sand bags, multiple cameras, kites, 4th bug, kitebike, kites, harnesses, QR parts, kites, GPS, repair kits, carbon fiber rib/chest protector, kites, first aid kit, banners and flags, wind meters, kites, wind socks, more poles and stakes, water, dog treats, kites, and the most important item - cell phone with 911 on the speed dial.
OH, forgot 1 thing, told the wife Where, What, Who, and When I would be back.:saint:
I think I have forgot a few things......well I'm sure its in the back of the truck.

Bladerunner - 10-9-2012 at 07:17 PM

As angus says it isn't an every day thing for a line to snap.

It is important that both front and both back lines are the same but front to back can be slightly different. You can make the difference up with the leaders on your handles. Cutting and sleeving will be cheapest by far. Line sets new are not cheap.

I don't just have a knife with me when kiting. I have one ( or 2 ) ON ME !!!! One tucked in my helmet and a little leatherman in my pocket. Most of my kite bags have bandages in them. :borg:

tridude - 10-9-2012 at 07:47 PM

Repair tape, apex screwdriver, scissors, knife, bladder/baton patches, extra leash, dental floss and needle, spare bungee safety lines all in a first aid kit marked "stuff":lol::duh::duh:

acampbell - 11-9-2012 at 04:26 PM

I forgot to mention the cold PBR's next to the water. Musta had a PBR...

Bladerunner - 12-9-2012 at 05:32 AM

Of course a helmet is a must ! :cool2:

Something to drink. 2 bottles so they can double as weight for the kite.

cheezycheese - 13-9-2012 at 07:43 AM

Dude just be there, you will NOT regret it... This is definitely a family oriented event. Lot's of kids and moms to entertain your spouse. There will be soooooo many kite related things for you to check out and new people to hang with. Just be prepared to have a major kite stoke for the next....ever !!! :cool2:

cheezycheese - 13-9-2012 at 07:43 AM

Oh, CONGRATS on your new son...

rocfighter - 13-9-2012 at 01:28 PM

Mark is right. You need to just stop by and say hello. And we like babies too.

doneski - 13-9-2012 at 04:30 PM

There's space for a big tent to park your family in and plenty of people willing to help you out and try new kites.

BEC - 13-9-2012 at 05:39 PM

:roll: You will be hanging out with everyone who loves this sport...There are so many people to help you out, answer questions, let you try kites and equipment. Not to mention you're on the beach in the sun and sand.....How bad could it possibly be? Lots of activities for Mom and kids too!
I went to my first one last year and look forward to every Spring and Fall... Please come and enjoy the event and you'll get to be with your family too. It's worth the trip :wee:

Todd - 13-9-2012 at 07:11 PM

Good deal! Be sure to introduce yourself and the family as well. Congrats on the boy and we'll see you soon... WBB awaits.

shehatesmyhobbies - 13-9-2012 at 07:18 PM

In case you don't know what you are in for, watch this! Beware it is full of fun, crazy times, a great group of guys and girls, and a bunch of wind! There are some explicit lyrics, but the video and the song both ROCK! Video filmed and edited by Todd, you know the guy above in the helmet!

Wildwood Buggy Bash, Oct 2010! The largest event yet for WBB!

Kober - 13-9-2012 at 08:23 PM

People keep coming back from all over US and Canada ..... That how much everyone enjoy that event .... I am sure you will be not disappointed .....

cyclesteel - 14-9-2012 at 08:03 AM

I am also going to me be making the trip out there for Saturday from the Philly Suburbs hopefully with a buggy. I am not sure If I am actually going to use it. Watching some videos it looks like I lot of buggies out there. How do you guys keep from getting kites tangled?

bobalooie57 - 14-9-2012 at 08:20 AM

 That was a classic, Rich!(thanks, Todd) :wee:

More videos please....!

skimtwashington - 14-9-2012 at 09:17 AM

That was nice.

Don't you love the race suit...? Music is appropriate.

Highway footage is cool and view of little car haulling two big buggies with 2 bopping helmeted passensers sets a good crazy fun mood.

...so is that how the suit is washed...?

shehatesmyhobbies - 14-9-2012 at 10:55 AM

We have a guideline set up to help avoid each other. We have only had a few incidents when people actually get tangled up kite on kite, none that I know of buggy on buggy! There is a spot off the hard pack that most noobs use to get used to the buggy, it's not exactly the soft sand, but a little of both. It is a good distance out of the traffic lanes. Coolest part about WBB, there are 8 miles of beach! Plenty of room to stretch out!

Let me get some more videos posted up to get the blood pumping, in the meanwhile, if someone has a few to post up, put them up by all means!

silvereaglekiter - 14-9-2012 at 11:21 AM

More vids you say....:spin:

I SOOO need a wind fix :ticking:

snowspider - 14-9-2012 at 11:51 AM

Backpacks are'nt just for kites you know. I used to go trout fishing with my one of my guys on my back. Then there was the time at Sun and Fun airshow ,one on my back one in the stroller and one trying to keep up "come on isabelle I want to see that p51 mustang" Juat go you will be alright.

anybody stoked yet...?

skimtwashington - 14-9-2012 at 12:02 PM

Hey....lets hop on board and take a ride w/ two top riders in next two videos..shall we..?...LET'S!

shehatesmyhobbies - 14-9-2012 at 03:10 PM

Wow, just remembering North beach in the first video on Skimt's post. Chris captured some great video that day! North beach was fully lit! almost 30mph winds then some! Paul with his mega spins, Claude with his buggy going so fast it was misforming the tires! That was the craziest day I think I ever had the pleasure of being on the beach! Of course minus the Awesome day everyone had Saturday during the Spring bash this year. According to almost everyone I talked to it was the PERFECT DAY! The best day that anyone had on the beach at any of the events to date!

Thanks for posting some of the great videos!
