You might consider putting pads on the umbrella too... I don't think 661 has started making pole pads yet, but forward this to them and they might
start a new line of gear!tsdr8 - 6-7-2009 at 01:03 PM

I wonder if the insurance companies look at these videos? Could this be part of the reason we have a hard time getting insurance for events? Sorry
about hijacking the thread.USA_Eli_A - 7-7-2009 at 10:52 AM

caddy shack that's great.
remember to get a "cat scan" after a crash like that. Or have someone remember for you as you are likely an idiot if you don't.
the fact this video exists online will set the sport back many years! Rrrrlad - 16-8-2009 at 09:15 AM

but actually kites are way safer than umbrellas! no safety mechanisms on that umbrella that i could see, not even an umbrella killer!
clearly insurance companies will see that this is not at all representative of the sort of behavior and level of risk-taking normally condoned by the
kite community.

gotta agree w/ Jon on this one. This sort of blatant unsafe behaviour could be used as fodder against us. Insurance cos. generally frown upon
impalation. Which WILL happen ,if people keep on being irresponsible kiters, with no foresight of the impending doom lurking behind the scenes for
our sport.
Sure hope that person isn't in the NAPKRA.
Everyone needs to think before posting vids of unsafe acts that could be good cause to ban us.
