Board watching...

Maven454 - 22-7-2009 at 10:45 AM

Just throwing a thought out here...

It's amusing to watch everyone sitting on the Today's Posts page waiting for a new post to read/reply to :wee:

indigo_wolf - 22-7-2009 at 02:13 PM

Had lots of little errands during the day. All in town, all PITA, but all necessary. And it is almost time to feed the wild wee ones, soooooo...... I see your 50 and call. ;-)

ATB,
Sam

Maven454 - 21-9-2009 at 07:10 AM

Man, the boards seem slow this morning... Everyone sleeping in on Monday?

ragden - 21-9-2009 at 07:25 AM

Nah... just waiting for the Wildwood Buggy Bash, and recovering from kitesurfing saturday :)

snobdr - 21-9-2009 at 07:59 AM

Its slow because im not posting, getting everyone going.

Jolt - 21-9-2009 at 08:06 AM

I get bored sitting in class :/...

LoL
Snobdr, too bad you missed the fun Saturday morning... :(

snobdr - 21-9-2009 at 08:15 AM

Yea i only would have gotten 2 hours tops riding. Driving 6 hours for that wasnt happening. I tried to landboard up at valley forge and just wasnt enuff. I need to find a better place. Theres a tree line that kills a north wind.
Hey are you still using the bfk?

ragden - 21-9-2009 at 08:24 AM

It was a long drive for a short amount of riding, but man it was a great ride. Totally worth it for me, but it was a very long amount of time in the car for only 3 hrs of riding...

I was on the 11m TD2. I'll bring the BFK to the Buggy Bash for ya... Havent flown it in quite some time. If you want it sooner, please let me know and I can mail it to ya... Thanks for the loaner though!

sometimes, yeah, a little keyboard kiting going on...

but i know for me sometimes i leave today's posts open on a tab and then forget about it for hours while doing other stuff.

i had two hours of clean offshore easterlies this afternoon. guess where i was ? ...at a meeting.

BeamerBob - 21-9-2009 at 08:43 AM

Yeah, I'm not on nearly as much as it appears. I use Firefox with my homepage actually set to multiple tabs and PKF is a tab that opens automatically if I open a browser. So unless I close the PKF tab, I'm showing as on if a browser is open on 4 different computers.

That hurts.
Last week I saw lots of posts on a local forum about folks going kitesurfing about an hour from my house. Problem was I didnt get home from work until after 5pm. I figured it wouldnt be worth the trip... The next day I read tons of posts about how much fun they had... Bad call on my part! Lesson Learned!

Maven454 - 21-9-2009 at 08:46 AM

If I'm at work, it's open the whole time and if I'm at home, it's open when the computer is on... So, yeah, I know the feeling.

snobdr - 21-9-2009 at 08:54 AM

Rag you can just bring it to the bash.

furbowski - 21-9-2009 at 08:54 AM

But the fact of the matter is that sometimes most of us on this thread do watch the board like hawks....

And yeah, while at work, I tend to leave this window open the entire time... :saint:

Sure BB.
We know you are a PKF addict :ninja: and cant get off the forum unless there is wind. The only reason you do get off is to go kiting, so you can talk about what you did when you get back on the forum. RIGHT?:spin::spin:

Well if its not exactly true then thats ok, but thats how a lot of us are. ;-)

Todd - 21-9-2009 at 11:07 AM

Well I just got back from training and checking the wind... BRB in a bit. I'm out the door to the beach to fly the rest of the afternoon! It's been a tough week down here at VA Beach but somebody has to do it!

Oh yeah, no lifeguards and on shore blowing 13-15 :bouncing:

FloRider - 21-9-2009 at 04:53 PM

Maven, I see you are still watching. You are amazing!

Maven454 - 21-9-2009 at 05:05 PM

Yeah, but if I could find some wind, I'd be flying instead :wee:

FloRider - 21-9-2009 at 05:07 PM

I'm stuck at work and it is blowing like crazy outside. I'm sure it'll only be sparrow farts by the time i get home.

hello wind, bye bye keyboard kiting... there are times when BB is hardly ever on the board -- try big wind weekends!

Maven454 - 21-9-2009 at 05:12 PM

Technically at this point I'd need some light too :Ange09:

FloRider - 21-9-2009 at 05:12 PM

Lucky sono#@%$#!un. I've been dieing to get out on the "pass the Brooza" I have on loan right now, and I've had no luck so far. It is tormenting me.

Oh, and about BB. I know, I was only playing.

global coverage and nonstop around the clock!

PKF board watchers UNITE!

ragden - 22-9-2009 at 04:58 AM

What frustrates me is when I'm sitting at home on a weekend and I can see the trees moving outside my window, but every forecast prediction i'm looking at says that all the flying locations within an hour of me have no wind... But its enough wind to move the darn tree outside my window... Dagnamit!

Maven454 - 22-9-2009 at 05:02 AM

Yeah, that one really drives me nuts.

Yes,even though what I say is true, I realize I'm an addict to the kite thing. If I can't be flying, I want to talk and read about it.

FloRider - 22-9-2009 at 06:41 AM

I've gotta make this a living like Angus so I can get more kite time and help others do the same. As it is I only get to go out an hour or two each week (wind permitting). :bird:

WIllardTheGrey - 5-10-2009 at 12:18 AM

Every night little after midnight I see the same two people setting watching.

Kamikuza - 5-10-2009 at 12:19 AM

My PC is always on and my browser always open :D

WIllardTheGrey - 5-10-2009 at 12:21 AM

lol thats one ^^

Jolt - 5-10-2009 at 01:22 AM

The thing that pisses me off about seeing the trees outside move is because somehow I always need to go to school or work at the time i notice them :(

AD72 - 5-10-2009 at 09:33 PM

We have windows in the meeting rooms so I get to watch the trees bending in the wind in the background. All discussions turn to blah blah blah as I zone out.....

Tomorrow is looking to be a great day to hit Delaware for some kiteboarding.

lad - 8-10-2009 at 10:37 AM

Yep, near 80 degrees, winds up to 30mph at the DE/MD beaches...and I'm sort'a laid out with a torqued knee from yesterday's 40mph inland session.

ragden - 8-10-2009 at 11:16 AM

I'm hoping it doesnt blow that strong or i'm in trouble... lol.

20-25 I can handle. More than that and I dont have a kite small enough to survive...

Todd - 8-10-2009 at 12:34 PM

Tomorrow will be epic at our Solomon's field! I'll be packing as soon as I get home. The Mazda is gonna be pissed since it's still not feeling well

Maven454 - 8-10-2009 at 01:08 PM

You're going to be flying at Solomon's tomorrow Todd? That's worth a thought or three, though I wouldn't get there until about 1700.

Yeah, but with sunset time, I'd only get about an hour and a half of flying time. That's only half as much time as I'd spend driving.

Maven454 - 29-10-2009 at 04:02 AM

 So bored... :(

Maven454 - 26-1-2010 at 10:39 AM

Still massively board watching :D

rocfighter - 26-1-2010 at 11:09 AM

Trees are moving here today but I have a wicked sinus headache and nothing is helping . Mabe some fresh air?

Maven454 - 26-1-2010 at 11:10 AM

Sure, fresh air helps everything, right?

indigo_wolf - 26-1-2010 at 11:12 AM

Alas, "fresh air helps everything" appears too many times on insurance claims forms. :o

That would clear right up for me mate... I'd fly small for the conditions tho if i was feeling rough... and lots of water!

brplatz - 26-1-2010 at 11:44 AM

2-3 ibuprofen and I'm feeling great :singing:

Brian

rocfighter - 26-1-2010 at 12:17 PM

I have tried Nyquil last night, Dayquil this morning. tylonal, ibuprophin, and coffee and doughnuts. Nothing is helping. This cold went through the shop I work in last week more than half the guys where out for a couple days. I teased them all about being whimps!!
This is what I get for teasing. Now I'm a whimp too!! :dunno:
I just want to fly my new 5m and ride my buggy. But I'm off balance due to sinuses. I'll stay home!

WIllardTheGrey - 28-4-2010 at 06:48 PM

Seven people right now:lol:. My wife says we are all kite porn addicts.:saint:

nocando - 28-4-2010 at 07:21 PM

Was at work watchin the trees dancing about, tempting me for further fun.

Guess what I, sucker that I am, decided a sickie is in the making. So I rang my supervisor and told him that I was going home as I was suffering from Major Wind Problems.

Now am trying to find my landboard mate for an arvos hooning around one of the local footy fields.

:bigok:

Drewculous - 28-4-2010 at 07:35 PM

not gonna lie... i spend way more time on the pkf than i do looking at porn

im ok with that tho, lmao

Knolee - 28-4-2010 at 08:21 PM

Some people enjoy this forum so much it is porn...
I like this thread...

Maven454 - 12-7-2010 at 03:09 AM

Man, the past couple of days have been slow on here. We haven't even had any interesting spam recently.

indigo_wolf - 12-7-2010 at 04:21 AM

Not sure how interesting it was, but two bits of spam fairly recently. I expect folks were out this weekend.

We need a couple more good "mad scientist" tinkering threads to get the wheels spinning again.

Hey, it's been a while since John (Holgate) reviewed something.

If thinks get too slow for you, pop over and read some of the articles on Brian's site. Some of it, isn't even remotely kite related, but he's definitely working the "mad scientist" mojo big time with some of his projects. :o

ATB,
Sam

P.S. Did you get your "PKF Junkie" T-shirt yet? I expect the use of a jittery font for the text was purely intentional

Maven454 - 12-7-2010 at 04:23 AM

Yeah, I saw those two spam posts and reported them. But they weren't interesting, just there.

furbowski - 12-7-2010 at 06:43 AM

I reported a couple spam lately as well....

:moon: on all human spambots.

Drewculous - 12-7-2010 at 09:37 AM

im making approx 12 gallons of alcohol on my garage... does that count as mad scientist

i have test tubes, measuring devices, open flames, thermometers, tubes, pumps... etc... lab equipment

indigo_wolf - 12-7-2010 at 10:00 AM

Open flames definitely put you in the running.
Projectile capabilities would make you a shoe in...
Bonus points for arclight generation...
Adding any or all  of these to a buggy could make you legendary...

Biographers stand (in high heels :o) at the ready.

ATB,
Sam

Drewculous - 12-7-2010 at 10:40 AM

i do have a propane powered potato gun at the ready... and a few pneumatic ones... and a few hairspray ones
some model rockets
various "actual firearms" (shotguns, rifles, few million volt stun gun, pepper spray in the kitchen lol)

welder check

i also have a gas mask, gloves, and goggles...

could slap a gun mount on the bug :borg:
soccer players, look out

he has an awesome site!!

that tank is WAY outta my league tho... im just a pyro... eveything else just came from that first evil laugh

my science teacher told me dry dairy creamer would burn in an open flame... and it was all downhill from there... if you tell me about something, and i get that same evil laugh... im in!

i'd make a punkin chucker.. but they are expensive... too much outta my kite budget

If you own a fireplace or have campfires while camping.... find coconut shells.

Prerequisite: you must like the sound of jet engines and afterburners.

After a while, you will find reasons to offer friends, neighbors, and people walking by on the street fresh coconut, so that you can stockpile the shells.

Parts of my childhood were... ummm... let's go with "eclectic."
