Power Kite Forum

Sound off....Where do you kite?

FloRider - 28-7-2009 at 10:18 AM

I've heard many say that there are more Land traction guys here on PKF than water surfing guys. The question is....What kind of location do you spend MOST of your time kiting?

Let's see.

I have access to a sod farm 20-30 mins away but it's irrigated atm so to soggy to do any flyin' at

And one park 20 mins away with pretty clean winds

Dry lake bed? Maybe that is the center selection of the poll. :)

MOST of my time? North Beach at Corpus Christi. I've kited *way* more on water this year. I have been making the 3hr drive to CC pretty much every weekend for the past 3 or 4 months. The winds have been literally non-stop there the past few months :frog:
A buddy moved out there back in March and said he's only NOT kited 7 days since the move.

Locally, either a lake or the park. It's been too hot to kite here in Austin, and the winds (up until yesterday/today) have been absolutely pathetic. I haven't had an after-work session in a long time, but I might be able to score one today ;D

115 acre city park on well mowed grass. Also nice jogging scenery bouncing along.

I've made the migration from land to water, though I still get out and landboard here.
