Hi guys and gals,
I live in the UK, and I'm looking to get back into power kiting and buy my first proper power kite. I'm hoping to get the Flexifoil Rage 3.5, but I
need your help if possible.
I intend to purchase my kite while on Holiday in Florida in a couple of months so have been looking for power kite shops near where we are staying
before I get there. The closest one I've found is Hawaiian Kiteworks, but they have no web address or email details. Does anyone know if they stock
the Flexifoil Rage kite and accessories? If not, are there any stockists of Flexifoil kites around the Kissimmee area?
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Paul.

what part in florida?
Coastal Windsports is in southern Georgia... Talk to acampbell here on the boards, he runs that show!

Cheers, I always forget Florida is so big, we will be in Orlando around the Disney Parks and Seaworld area. If you know it the Belz Factory Outlet
World is about 20 mins drive form our Villa.
Looking forward to the holiday, I've been quite a few times to that area, but it will be my daughters first trip to Disneyworld, she is 4.
Thanks for the info.

Florida Flexifoil Dealers are listed here:
http://www.flexifoil.com/us/traction/retailers/retailers.cfm...
Unfortunately they list phone numbers and not email addresses or web addresses (Grrrrr.... )
Nearest Premier Flexi Dealer is about 55 miles from Belz Factory Outlet World. Depending on traffic, it might actually be more convenient to just
have Angus ship (postage will be offset by taxes, gas, and traffic frustration) the kite to you. I generally get stuff from Angus within 2-3 day, and
you will be closer to him than I am now.

Sam

Thanks for the kind words all. Just a heads up that I don't always stock Rages. Never Used to be a problem as it took but 36 to 48 hours to get them
in from the UK. Now Flexi has outsourced their distribution and warehousing, which has added a few days to the equation. Lines and accessories are
normally in stock here and ship right away as stated.
Also try Ocean Extreme Sports in St. Augustine, FL. They are brick and mortar and I think they carry Flexi. that would be 2 hours drive each way.
But give me a heads up by a few days and I can get anything to you. Ground shipping to Orlando from me is one day, two the most.

Cheers Angus, I'll bear it in mind.
Thanks.

Why are you looking at buying a British kite in the USA? Should be flexi dealers closer than two hours away at home. Iwould have thought that the
duty would mean higher cost.

@Scudley:
Well, you might be able to sneek it by in your suitcase - which i can of cource not recommend.
The companies have different prices they can sell their gear for in different countries so it might be well worth it.

@Scudley
A valid point! 1 reason was to spend left over holiday cash, thinking I could save some money. I have only just recently discovered that Flexi are a
British company (can't believe I was not aware of that!) and that they are around the same price currently. This means, instead of waiting until
November I aim to pick one up soon and try and get some use before winter. The average price in UK seems to be around £280 for the kit, but I have
found http://www.airbossworld.com/index.php have them on sale at £223 with lines and handles at the moment.

don't forget the used market there (UK): flexi's website links to a forum with probably the biggest turnover of used foils anywhere!
paulcoleman - 4-8-2009 at 12:46 PM
Thought about that but at the moment S/H Rages in 3.5m seem to be like rocking horse poop. There is 1 on eBay at the moment with handles (and a
couple with a bar).
What is the Bullet 3.5 like in relation to the Rage, they seem to be cheaper and a little more plentiful.
acampbell - 4-8-2009 at 01:31 PM
The Rage replaced the Bullet. The bullet is still a great kite and they were very popular as you can see how many are around
paulcoleman - 4-8-2009 at 02:46 PM
Cheers Angus, might look out for one of those as a backup. I assume as the Rage replaced the Bullet they should be pretty similar, handling speed and
power wise, with the Rage being the better of the two.
acampbell - 4-8-2009 at 03:01 PM
Yes, fair assumption with the Rage a bit faster
paulcoleman - 6-8-2009 at 01:22 PM
Well the second hand market sucks. Struggling to find any really, the only one currently on eBay finished today at £193 posted! At that price I'd
rather shell out the extra and get a new one. Just wish I could find a new or used 3.5mtr in Acid colours (seem to be mega rare). Failing that I'll
either go for Samba or Hulk colours, Petrol as a last resort. Not keen at all on the Rasta or Midnight schemes personally.
What's everyone else's opinions on the rage colour schemes available?
jaymzmn - 7-8-2009 at 08:30 AM
why a rage? go for BLADE 4.9....bags of fun!
paulcoleman - 7-8-2009 at 08:39 AM
Thought about them to, just thinking about cost and risk or injury/death with my first quad line kite!
