lol... why ride the XR+ when you already have the Apexx with heel straps.
guess you're ready for the Reactor IIs in your custom colours.Scudley - 4-8-2009 at 05:53 AM
Ken's legs still need more support than just heel straps. When I put up the video from his first ride yesterday, you will notice the netting we used
to support his legs. He is just able to steer the peter lynn, I suspect the weight of the Apexx would be too much.
It was great to see him in a buggy again. There were more than a few tears of joy shed as old friends pulled in to the park to see him sitting in his
buggy with a kite in his hands.
Very weird to see an empty wheel chair sitting in the middle of the park
SBeamerBob - 4-8-2009 at 06:04 AM
I felt much better when I saw him steer the buggy with his legs. So he has been under kite power now? That's fantastic to see him back in the fold.
Keep us up on his progress.kitemaker4 - 4-8-2009 at 06:16 AM
Great vid and thanks for sharing. Keep it up.

Here is the video of Dirtslide's first flight in 5 months. The jones has been on him real bad. The smile on his face is a mile wide. Awesome to see him
back at his passion.
The kite he is flying is a Reflex 4m. He traded a kgb to Tonya for it just before his accident. It had been sitting at his bedside for along time.
It was part of his rehab inspiration. You have never seen a guy work harder. He is a real wonder, keeping his spirits up while working a seemingly
Sisyphean task.
I am very proud to be included amongst his friends.

WOW !!!!!!!
What a fantastic note to start off my week!
I will be a few minutes late for work because I couldn't stop watching.
I love how the 1st thing you do is ride backwards, like it is natural to everyone to do so.
I'm fighting back the tears right now and couldn't be MORE HAPPY!!!
D'Sliddy, YOU ROCK!!! :Ange09:sunset-Jim - 4-8-2009 at 07:23 AM
"Don't worry, I'll be back"

Good man!dirtslide - 4-8-2009 at 07:38 AM
i find it amusing that after 12 years of kiting i can now look like a newbie in my buggy maybe that will be my latest trick :singing: It feels so good
to be riding under kite power again ,i had even stopped going to the local kite field because it crushed me to even watch my comrades and not be able
to get out there and kite with them not to mention missing NABX which is the highlight of the year for me. I have to thank my good friends for there
support and hard work you are the best and with out you this wouldn't be happening .all i can say is "I'm back" :bouncing::bouncing:Kamikuza - 4-8-2009 at 07:40 AM

I was just sitting down to have my lunch at work (a crappy day) and seeing this video and learning that DS had his first ride since his accident has
made my day....totally in shock and so so happy to have him back!
I will be out on the weekend at GP so I hope to see him there.
Good to have you back bro.
Those shoes of yours are impossible to fill.
All the best!
