I have been constantly searching for a large park or field suitable to kiteboard in. Thusfar I have not found one that I could fully recommend for one
reason or another until I came across the the basin 116. I created a location marker on the local kite sports site because I feel like others might
benefit from a good kite spot and this place truly rocks for such a crowded city.
I hope to see some fellow east valley kiters out at some point. I know you are out there. It is on Elliot just east of Ellsworth in Mesa.
Videos forthcoming. Just waiting for a little more wind.william_rx7 - 21-8-2009 at 06:55 PM
Thanks Budday! Here's a link to your post. Click for a forecast.
If you post video on YouTube include the tag "Basin 116", and the LocalKiteSpots.com YouTube crawler will pick it up.
Next good wind day let's break this place in.SlasherQuan - 27-8-2009 at 07:26 PM

I thought the only settings that oven had were "roasted flesh", "burned-to-a-crisp", and "i'm-not-going-out-there"...SlasherQuan - 3-9-2009 at 01:03 PM

Wow, good spot! Do you mind if I add it to the forthcoming "kite spots" section of my site?
Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd love to see more kiters there.r7stuart - 21-8-2010 at 03:52 PM
Has this site seen much regular activity? Would like to get back into buggying but all my equipment is back home in England...r7stuart - 29-9-2010 at 10:50 AM
I checked this place out at the weekend (without kite, unfortunately). It was a little toasty, and completely deserted. The basin isn't too deep, and
even a few feet from the edge I was feeling good smooth SE wind. The sprinklers seemed to be restricted to the middle of the field, but hey, it's just
going to be refreshing in AZ
Pic not attached since it's too big. I'll upload somewhere else. I'll post when I plan to fly here, but probably won't be before next year - I'll be
bringing equipment from back home after Christmas.
Dat's nice. In my neck of the woods, some yahoo would be looking to turn that into a soccer field or driving range... even though we have too many of
both.
The UK and Canada seem to do a better job of keeping open lands undesignated/multi-use.
