Definitely not a fan of horizontal scrolling.... even with IS.
Some interesting stuff to light up the Christmas tree lights: Two different trucks. The line up has gotten beefier... with 3 new models. Even the Tier
2 bindings are ratchet now.
Did they change the tread pattern/profile on the MAK Tires? Few lugs and just siped in the center for reduced rolling resistance and sliding, while
retaining them on edges... possibling bi-level?

What didn't you like about the MBS bag? Just curious.
Sherpa Bag was delivered last week because the price was stupid low.

if you ride like we do, 599.00 isn't much for a GREAT board. But I see what you are saying, that's why there are $200 boards too! Trust me, there is
a board for everyone. You will quickly learn why I ride GI, you will see a video like no other!dylanj423 - 24-8-2009 at 08:54 PM
they shed a lot of weight on that flight lite!... sweet boards.... i love mine, and its a few years old... just put 50 miles on it the other day...

I can second the love for GI. I love my Flight Lite 100 and I'm looking forward to trying out the terraintualas! Christmas can't come fast enough.
So Eli, you saying there is a GI vid coming in the near future? Do tell.USA_Eli_A - 25-8-2009 at 03:11 PM

new angles, new gear, gonna be a new Day for the sport and GI!

the MBS bag fits the board nicely however its bigger in size and doesnt form to the board as cool
the compression straps in the center to tighten up the center do very little. pull on them to hard the buckle doesnt hold. Made in China!
plus i like to add more to the bag than just my bag so the wheels on the Sherpa come in handy.USA_Eli_A - 25-8-2009 at 04:30 PM
thats cause you too slow...:dunno:
but the MBS bag is pretty sweet! couple of my buddies have em, can put quite a bit more clothing and soft good in it.
But my sherps holds 3-baords, not assembles, my pads (helmet, knee, azz, and top) smelly shoes, extra tires bearings, and I've had the same bag for 4
years! It's been to Nabx for 4 years, and goes everywhere with me, ALL THE TIME!.
Its been tested and proven TOTALLY BAD AZZ!kiteNH - 25-8-2009 at 05:42 PM

Since there are probably rules about discussing/referring retailers outside of PKF supporters,
I've U2Ued you.
Pretty sure the sale ended about a week ago. It was originally mentioned in a thread where someone was looking for a landboard.

So I'm hearing September for the new gear being available. What's the skinny Eli? Also, the sherpa looks great. Seen it, want one.USA_Eli_A - 27-8-2009 at 10:18 AM
i think indigo wolf has one or some.
I can get some but it'd be a week.
I will have 4 boards at sunset for demo, only one brand new Patrol, but I'll have a few sets of cross air hubs on an older patrol, older flight light,
older conflict, and some sort of ramp(s)

Only snagged one for myself. If it would help anyone sitting on the fence and deciding whether to pull the trigger, I can take some detailed pics of
it to post. McDuck already sounds like he's sold, but not sure who else is out there.
Fair warning... a random cat or two might appear in pics as they are both convinced that any new container (bag or box) is a the new condo they put an
order in for while I was at work.

Pics are always good. So are you and Eli both GI reps, sponsored, or just big promoters of the GI line? I was talking with Rich G. and Matt McC. at
the Cricket Rail Jam Tour here in AZ a while back about repping for AZ since we seem to be lacking in that area. U2U me if this is getting too off
topic but I'd like to hear more about what you're doing as I've already gotten a few folks into mountainboarding here in AZ.USA_Eli_A - 27-8-2009 at 01:58 PM

Eli yes, me no.
I just bumped into good deals on several pieces of GI gear due to pure luck.

So I'm obviously looking in the wrong places then because I can never seem to find GI gear on ebay/craigslist/etc. Maybe I'm just not looking often
enough? Or maybe indigo_wolf knows of a secret underground mountainboarding market and he's not sharing it's whereabouts.indigo_wolf - 28-8-2009 at 03:08 PM

excellent. We only have about a dozen of these boards available and as always, its first come first serve.
those won't last long...sweet, if you buy now AWOC could have it up here before sobb! If you need an address to ship to u2U OR just tell AWOC you're

I expect Kent and Eli would be getting the stuff right quick.... who knows.... they might even be willing to take pre-orders. Pretty sure Kent has
done that in the past for certain kites. Whatcha on the hunt for?

I have a 2010 Patrol with all new stuff, it'll be available for anyone who can to ride it. If you need a quick half hour lesson on my bar simulator,
$40.00 (SOBB) it's something we can do privately away from Sobb if you'd like.
I have boards to ride, and one used baord for sale, 2009 Patrol with vegas and some extras.awindofchange - 3-9-2009 at 04:04 PM
The new stuff is shipping pretty quick and most shops should have them available as soon as GI gets the shipments out. We are more than happy to take
pre-orders on any products we carry. As soon as more information becomes available on the new GI gear, ourselves as well as Eli and other shops will
do what we can to get that information out to all of you. Eli is the lucky bas#$@$d to that got a hold of the all new Patrol.....sick board bro!!!
(can ya tell that i'm jealous?!) If you get a chance to hook up with him be sure to get an eye full and a ride on the new board! Eli rocks and will
take care of ya! As stuff starts to trickle into our shop we will let ya'll know.indigo_wolf - 3-9-2009 at 06:17 PM
Are the wheels and the board material the biggest differents between the 2009 and 2010 Patrol? Not including color
ATB,
Samawindofchange - 3-9-2009 at 07:54 PM
Pretty much, as the trucks and bindings are still the same. Bionics are just as strong and beefy as ever and the bindings are still Talons or roots
(depending on the model).McDuck - 3-9-2009 at 09:57 PM
Hey, does anyone know if the Sherpa has wheels? I noticed in the 2010 lineup pic it shows wheels on one end but I don't see those in any of the other
pics. Can someone confirm one way or the other? Thanks. Oh, and mine should be arriving Sept 9th.indigo_wolf - 4-9-2009 at 12:57 AM
No wheels on mine.
Unless they're REALLY, REALLY small.
ATB,
SamMaven454 - 4-9-2009 at 03:04 AM
My Sherpa should be arriving today from AWOC, I'll let you know if it's got wheels. I saw that in the pictures too, and it made me wonder.kiteNH - 4-9-2009 at 06:17 AM
Nope now wheels on the Sherpa bag that I got. But it is HUGE. Way bigger than I pictured. And the shiny interior is strange. It must be for easy
cleaning but it looks like the inside of a fabric cooler or something.Maven454 - 4-9-2009 at 06:19 AM

I expect the bags coming out of GI now, might have wheels.... any previous stock doesn't. In a terminal (plane/train/boat) I could see the wheels
being useful.
Anywhere else, I could see the wheels being a detriment unless there is a way the the two wheels are kept in alignments, the wheels are user
replaceable, and there is a skidplate. Otherwise, there are going to be instances where you will unknowingly be dragging the shell fabric over
concrete, gravel, or whatever.
Yes, Huge. I think Eli said he can fit 3 full boards and still have room left over for a full complement of pads and a helmet.
The bag is lightly insulated, not sleeping bag class insulation. I am of two minds on the liner material. Weekend looks to be rainless, so maybe I
will get a chance to take some of the pics I meant to take last weekend. Will start a seperate thread for that.

any good deals on sherpa bags still out there???? how about some closeout older model boards.... i have my eyes primarily on the conflict 106Maven454 - 4-9-2009 at 01:32 PM
Yep, no wheels on mine either. Definitely big though.McDuck - 9-9-2009 at 07:27 PM
So I got my Sherpa today. Looks like a pretty nice bag and it has plenty of room for gear, boards, etc. I also like how it folds into a backpack
when not holding a board. I can see that coming in handy. It's a little thinner than my snowboard bag but I'm guessing that's because it shouldn't
need as much insulation. I'll put it through it's paces and post more if my opinion changes. Worth the $ in my opinion.DirtDave1 - 30-10-2009 at 11:18 AM
Word from GI is all old sherpa's will be sold off before "2010 Sherpa" will come in. The new Sherpa will have wheels.USA_Eli_A - 30-10-2009 at 08:50 PM

Does anyone know if the Sherpa bag is supposed to carry more than one board?
I thought that they showed two in a picture that I had seen but I could not figure out how to get two MBS boards into it the other day.Maven454 - 30-11-2009 at 03:39 PM
They claim one board assembled or two disassembled. I think the picture lies.indigo_wolf - 30-11-2009 at 04:07 PM
I suspect even if you could fit two boards with trucks, one board would chew the heck out of the other (unless you foam one set of trucks).
Two boards with trucks and wheels just ain't happening. Maybe broken down, but seems like that (constant assembly and take down) would get to be a
drag....fast.
ATB,
SamkiteNH - 30-11-2009 at 04:09 PM
Disassembled must mean "wheels off". Then they'd go no problem.
I don't think they'd really grind too much. Its a short walk to the beach. Hopefully I put them through more abuse than that once I get there.:D
Found the pic. Looks like they have street wheels on one. Makes sense because I was very close to getting the 2 to fit.
indigo_wolf - 30-11-2009 at 05:07 PM
It also looks like the board on top is shorter, so that it more readily "nests" with the lower board.
As far as the grinding, I guess I am thinking more in terms of the Bionic trucks, which are beefy like the I-beams off a skyscraper in a city of
hamsters. :wow:
ATB,
SamDirtDave1 - 2-12-2009 at 08:22 AM
Maybe the issue is 2 MBS boards complete. I have set my boards up just like the picture 1 conflict 106 and 1 AK 103. The Ak has street wheels on it
and both boards have Bionic trucks. I don't think the 3cm makes a difference, but I'm sure the pneumatic tires do. The bag is definitely large enough
to offset the boards and the center strap and top straps for around the truck hold everything pretty snug. Never really had muck damage occur to the
bottom of the boards, but a small piece of cardboard attached to the bottom of the trucks would solve any scratching you maybe worried about.indigo_wolf - 2-12-2009 at 09:30 AM

I got bored and razored a set of canoe blocks.
Local place was selling them for next to nothing at the end of the season.
They latch onto the trucks, and water doesn't turn them to oatmeal..... ok... really bored.

SamPHREERIDER - 2-12-2009 at 10:39 AM
the GI sherpa bags are the ticket, 2 boards maybe staggered with the top half zipped.
definitely a tidy land based pack, and water
i will typically pack out , 106 pat, pads, shoes, harness, one 13m kite bar/lines x2, extra gloves /socks and water bottle and zip it all and if the
wind potential is looking good kiteboard strapped on back . can hike or bike with it to get a good launch spot. the collapse feature makes for a
quick spot change without hassle , just take it with on the ride.McDuck - 10-12-2009 at 10:08 AM
So I've been MIA for a while from this forum but I wanted to let everyone know that my Sherpa keeps getting more and more useful. I have since
procured more safety gear (knee and elbow pads, Hillbilly gloves, and a helmet) and my Sherpa fits everything with more room to spare. Also, my
friend and I hiked into a riding spot and I was able to fold my bag into the backpack and throw my board across my back while my friend had to drag
his board through the sand for over a mile! He complained the whole time while I was comfortable as could be. :D
Worth...every....penny.indigo_wolf - 10-12-2009 at 10:13 AM
