0.7m and 1.4m PKD Buster

WOW,
a couple of teeny weeny kites arrived (RTF) and boy did they fly/handle great.
These are the original (and brand new in bag) Busters not the IIs or IIIs.
Pablo's unloading them on ebay. I ordered Monday and they arrived Friday. Get them while they are hot!!!
Super fun fast kites and the 0.7m is not available in the II or III.
These kites are so tiny and look like little toy kites so I half expect them to fly like a toy kite. They are clearly not a toy kite in any sense. I think it's genius how well these tiny quadline foils handle.
They handle and do everything a 'real' quadline foil does just with more speed and less pull of course.
I like flying fast kites (of all types) and these little buggers did not disappoint.

-both kite's adjustable AoA set at factory trim.
-winds at about 25-ish kp/h and slowly fading.
-the 0.7m Buster was as fast if not faster than my Prism Micron (the original, smaller/faster Micron) I never thought any kite could be as fast. Turns were nothing more than a light tap on the brake(s) or a slight pull on a handle.
I could have set the AoA to allow for more speed but wanted to try the 1.4m.
-Set up the 1.4m and after a quick static test fly I went for a buggy run. Winds died down so I did not get a lot of time on it.
Handling was same as the 0.7m. Not a toy kite.
Again, genius how PKD got these flying florescent pillow cases to do what they do.
I've flown cheap RTF kites and remember how they feel. As if kite were attached via bungy cords to handles. I read that the Buster IIs came RTF with 'better' lines so when I saw the lines on the two Busters I wondered. No worries they are solid.

if your not used to fast/quick kites just really keep your eye on them suckers and keep them high...what a blast.
I never crashed my Micron (with OEM 50' lines) cuz I bought it on a work trip and always flew it alone. With no-one to chat with I always had my eye on it.
I darted it the first flight at home. Wife came walking on to field. I turned to say something or other and that was it...dart!! I put a set of 75' lines on it and that helped keep it off the ground.

Hmmmmm.... a .7M would be kind of interesting in a Micronish way. Current nipper in the pack is a few 1.2s

Watch out!!! the kites I got from him on ebay were soaked with pet urine! What a drag, I am super pissed:thumbdown:

revpaul - 1-9-2009 at 03:04 PM

sorry to hear about that. did you contact him?

Big Earl - 1-9-2009 at 04:22 PM

Yes, no responce as yet. It has only been a couple hours though. It's not like he could not have noticed it was pretty bad

revpaul - 1-9-2009 at 07:26 PM

that sucks.
Just for sake of argument, it's just the kites inside the package that stink and not the entire (outside as well as inside) package?

I have quite a few items (four kites, two buggies, and several buggy accessories) from Pablo and never had this problem.
Hopefully everything turns out for ya.

The package does not stink except for the smell coming from the inside. The .7m was still moist and very pungent, the 1.4 has yellow stains on the lines and a bit on the bag but does not smell as bad as the .7

To be fair, urine generally becomes more... pungent with time, so they may not have smelled when they were still with him. But being wet/damp should certainly have been noticed.
