I was just wondering if any of you guys have tried one of these. I've been doing simple Google searches for reviews and/ or videos on YouTube of
these kites and can't find much. All I'm reading is that they are super lifty and floaty, but at the same time easy on beginners because of the Naish
Shift depower system. The one I am currently looking at is a 20m so it would be nice for those low wind days, and I am exceptionally lucky at finding
amazing deals.

Hey man
I'll start off by saying I have never tried the Naish Raven2.
I do have a freind that had big kite like that (20 Rhino I think) and it wasn't that good.
It never worked much better than a 16 meter bow kite in light winds.
It turned slow, and because it was so big was heavy and never flew that well in wind under 10 knots.
At the time I had a 16 meter Turbo Diesel it turned a bit quicker and had as much or more power.
All it really did was wear us out pumping it up.
There is probably a reason no-one makes them that big anymore.
My buddie also had to put it away pretty quick as the wind picked up. I am guessing but by 15 knots or around there he was over powered.
Just my opinion on a 20 meter kite.

I'm pretty sure the " shift depower system " is the 5 line bar. Nothing to do with the kite accept that 5 line was new back then ?????
I agree. A 20m C kite will turn super slow and give you a super limited safe wind range.
Why else do you think it's so cheap ?:duh:

I rode a 20m yarga. Really anything over 16 becomes a load. The weight becomes an issue. The kite made a ton of power on the downstroke but getting it
back up was nearly impossible. Once you get winds that light either switch to a surfboard or get a flysurfer silver arrow.

Yeah I completely agree with those points, I just got really excited because of the price. The shift depower system looks really weird to me also.
You are hooked in to 2 points, one on the power lines and then the bar with the chicken loop is also attached. When you unhook that, you depower the
kite, but it is very unusual because the bar is free except for being attached to the power lines and it looks like it could get you into trouble.
What's wrong with just sliding the bar over the chicken loop line??? :puzzled:

I got a Shift bar on my Airush ... works nice IMO, very tidy. The one in the video is different to mine though although the safety release is
identical.
IIWY I'd go a 16m bow - way more power and easier to fly.

Ok... then I have no idea what bar system comes with it. :dunno: Doesn't really matter to me anymore as I probly won't be getting one.

If you are looking to go out on the water your BEST money is on LESSONS !!!!!
If you are looking at older C kites be aware that most people have a 3 kite quiver with them. They don't have as much range as most of the newer
types. Even with having to buy 3 they can be one heck of a good deal.
