Went out today on the clifftop, the winds were clean and constant and surprisingly low speeds but it was still lifting, more than ever! :D A fun day!:wee:

Ignore the commentary, my brother is a div sometimes

How windy was it in those videos?

Jack1988 - 11-9-2009 at 03:14 PM

not very strong and im being honest if you hear the wind on the camera phone thats the best way i can say the wind was that day but i was a hundred feet above sea and about 100 feet away from the sea in a sW wind that was constant i didnt have an anometer to record wind speeds so i cant remember what they were but i can assure you that they were very nice winds nice as in wow wtf how did i go that high winds haha

Reason I ask, is we had a good go with the blade last night. Im not all that happy with it. Maybe because im use to the 4m Cirrus flying through the air really fast, but this blade moves through the air so umbeleivably slow its quite annoying. When we get a decent jump at about head hight, its not easy to redirect quick enough. It doesnt feel like a great jumping kite tbh. Do you think its just something to get use to? I know baldes get rave reviews. ( ours is a 6,4 blade II.)

I love the 4m cirrus and im wondering weather an upgrade to a 6m would have been better suited.

Bigger the kite, slower it moves - until the wind picks up :Ange09:
There's a vid around here somewhere with a guy jumping on a Blade III 6.6 ... pretty impressive!

To nafe- ive never flown a blade so i cant help you on that front, i think its definitly something you get used to, ive had to adjust techniques for jumping with a 4.5 ace and a cirrus6, literally two completly different techniques that i have to master for each kite. the bigger kites are slower and more graceful in lifting.

I dont think upgrading to a Cirrus 6 will give you much help, if youve got a big blade then forget about the cirrus 6, you wont benefit from it. maybe look at getting a pansh 5? they get a decent rep for jumping...i think lol

That's for the info... Still not sure about this blade tho... Need to take it out a few more times.

My mate did an awesome jump on the cirrus 4 the other day... Go to more videos from me on my other vids on Youtube... Ill post a link later. Can't be bothered on this blackberry lol

edit:
ok here it is.

lol that was quite nice, dont like the fall though, one day that might happen in a serious wind and you could bust a knee.
