U-turn oxi III pass?

Big Earl - 3-9-2009 at 08:48 AM

I see U-Turn has come out with a new oxigen with some kind of leading edge support and new graphics. I wonder if it's a gimmick or the future of kiting. Mabey one of the generous folks here could pass one around. I know it's a longshot but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

a bit of both I reckon. that's a very strong seam running across the LE, looks like it would stabilize the whole edge. The vents are a little back of the LE, right where the best pressure is, and between the mesh and the round shape it looks like there would be very little distortion of the canopy in flight.

and the A row looks like it is set quite a ways back from the LE, like the ozone flow, seems like kite manufacturers are doing that in general as they get better at stiffening the LE.

the round cuts, the mesh, the setback on the A row, all that's been done before, but not so often all together, and that big seam looks almost like a new design feature...:puzzled:

just my 0.02 cents and kind off the top of my head after only 2 years into the sport... but yes does look interesting.

Don't know if you'll see a pass, but U-turn has been around for awhile and could use the renewed exposure...

I tried a helium 6m once, an older one with power rings, it was a good stable traction machines but I only got about fifteen minutes on it as I was setting it up for his new owner and once it was flying he was on it!!! LOL.

But I had my blade there, so it was a good day for us both!!

Ripsession already posted about this... Some kind of synthetic rods in the Le. Seams like they want the LE to keep it's shape better. After all, that is where your biggest improvement in speed/lift/drag will come from.

I think we will see one here shortly.:bigok:

lol ... maybe soon

Kitebuggy Mama has a few sizes coming to her shortly.

PPN actually has been around awhile in the paraglider industry. Ernst is pretty creative when it comes to paragliders and kites. Even the old Airea Raptors are still one of the best kites around.

U-Turn has always done things different and at their pace, and the quality and performance shows in their kites.

Xenon will be coming out shortly. looks fast already.
