Read about that on the kiteforum. Bad spot to be. Bummer. Just goes to show that you need to cognizant of your surroundings, your skill level, and try to make the best judgement call you can. Winds are unpredictable sometimes, and accidents happen. :(

Saw that post on Kite Crowd forum. He was an experienced kiteboarder. His brother said...

"Mark worked hard all his life and enjoyed his water sports immensely. He took safety very seriously and always wore quality protective equipment. It appears in this case he simply misjudged the weather."

Heartbreaking. He was an organ donor and at least three people benefited...
