would it work?

i have just had a brilliant idea come into my mind and i dont know how i havent thought of it before,

how about flying a kite from my freestlye kayak?, both on grass and water?

Does anyone think this would work/ be remotely viable?? ha

umm, not really unless you want to go down wind..

you need a keel to be able to hold an egde..

could be doable maybe if you had a 2 man kayak, as on peron could use the oar as a keel/rudder maybe...

You could let it drag you downwind/sideways/underwater and out of the boat. Your inability to steer the boat will limit your fun. That and the fact that you can't effectively resist the side load forces if you were able to turn somehow.

aye thats a very good point lol

the side of the boat has a big rocker and the underside has a sharp twin rail to enable you to carve on edge much in the same way as a surfer would do with upturned ends to stop the digging in when surfing so i dont know whether this will have any effect :tumble:

one thing i know wont happen is getting pulled outta the thing i strapped in there with thigh braces etc so tight that parts mpossible but it does enable me to move the boat wherever i want which could help?

if you rigged it with some fins to provide some resistance, and a rudder to steer, you might have something... tough build tho

post some pics of the build lol!

I actually had a guy offer me his kneeboard to kite with, i told him i might have to mod it a little, and he seemed ok with it... i'll let you know!
