what is static jumping?

rando - 23-9-2009 at 03:54 PM

Can someone break down the lingo for me please and especially the difference between static jumping and regular jumping?

These words confuse me too:

lofting
luffing

I thought I knew what they meant but then hearing them used differently in some online postings has me unsure. If anyone could clear it up for me i'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Randy

Static is stationary. NOT riding on anything. To ME a rugular jump is done with a board or whatever your ride is.

Lofting is when you are taken off the ground by your kite. Usually by a gust or something unexpected.

Luffing is when your kite loses it's internal pressure and crumbles. Usually for over flying the wind window.

static jumping is when you jump with the kite in front of you with your body facing forward towards the kite in front of you, best if its quite windy. thats the best i can describe it.
