I will be down at the beach this Saturday and Sunday at Moss Landing - if anyone has the low down on this area I would be very interested - looks
like a descent low tide for the weekend - and should be cold - run off the tourists. I'm curious to know if there are any issues with Rangers down
there since Ocean Beach got the ban slapped on it back in May - don't want to rock the boat for anyone.

there are no tourists there ;-) I hope the tides are low enough. It was a huge difference between 0 tide and -2 tide. It looks like you will have
just above 0 tide for both days. Its definitely runable with 0 tide. But it won't be like OB. The beach has some curves in it so you can ride in the
best spot for the winds on that day. I only went down the beach about 1/3 mile and it started to open up more, so it might be better down further ...
I'm not sure. I parked in the parking lot just on the south end of town. I liked it because you could go north and south from a central location. If
you park at the lot by the marina entrance you can only go south from there. I know there is another lot further south than the lot I went to but I
don't know if you have to hike in to the beach or not.
I don't think rangers will mess with you. I was there one time with my buggy in the parking lot and they didn't pay it any mind. That was the only
time I saw a ranger around out of about 6 trips.
If it wasn't such a drive I would love to make it for the day on sat. Where you gonna stay?
I'll try and give you a call tomorrow we have been missing the calls lately.

I used to surf there. Beautiful beach. Long as you keep your stuff off the dunes, you should be fine. I know they are pretty particular about staying
off the fenced off areas. Aside from that, I wouldnt think you would have any hassle. Sand is pretty soft, so you wont have any beach when the tide
comes up. Moss Landing is ALWAYS windy (surf is always blown out if you get there too late, big bummer). Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the info gentlemen - I'll be staying at a campground down in Monterey - about a 7 mile drive - but hey I'm already putting out 200 to get
there so what's another 7. When you say they have a real problem with people in the fenced off area, could that include a kite flying over it? Bird
nests I'm supposing. As the tide recedes down to a 0 how much runnable room (packed sand) is there - and how far from that runnable sand to the
fence? I know that the size of the beach varies at it meanders along - just looking for an average in a good spot. Thanks
