Ok so I guess the other topic got me thinking, it might be better to see how people spend their time on those days the winds aren't really kicking.
So other than the jobs you guys have, what do you do as hobbies other than working or going to school? and of-course other than kiting.
Personally, I guess, I started hitting the gym regularly, no winds means I need something to do for a workout.
I guess I'm also a geek, I tend to play computer games a lot.WIllardTheGrey - 1-10-2009 at 02:31 AM
sharpen knifes, tie nautical knots, read fantasy/sifi/mystery/westerns, rally the old logging roads with some friends, and of course the internet and
computer games fps/rts/puzzle.Jolt - 1-10-2009 at 02:36 AM
I guess i can add the sharpening of knives for me, at any given time, for one reason or another, there is atleast 1 knife i know of withing arms
reach...
If it helps I also like to read, i just recently got into the Tom Clancy books, and have started reading them more often.heliboy50 - 1-10-2009 at 02:39 AM
Video games, working on starting my own business, photography, build stuff in my garage, fish, fly RC helicopters, get tattooed, getting back into
paintball and snowboarding, I used to SCUBA dive a lot- need to quit smoking so I can get back to doing that, and learning to play bass.

Reading sci-fi/fantasy/military fiction. Gaming of every kind (always need more people to play though). Watching PKF like a hawk :DJolt - 1-10-2009 at 03:17 AM
Hmm... Inline hockey, there used to be a time when I used to be heavily involved in that, still got a ton of hockey sticks left over.
If anyone here play's any Command & Conquer games or CS: S lemme know, those are few of the games i still end up playing.
Also forgot to add, every once in a while when I'm Uber bored, i pull up photoshop for some random fun.ragden - 1-10-2009 at 04:55 AM
I play World of Warcraft three times a week (tuesday - thursday). Weekends are split between running Dungeons & Dragons games in Pennsylvania with
friends, and kitesurfing if the wind is blowing. If it isnt, I hang with the wife and watch movies, or play older computer games like Neverwinter
Nights and/or Dawn of War... stuff like that. I used to do a lot of bicycle riding, but not so much anymore. I still have a nice bike, just dont ride
it.
When there is snow on the ground, I consider downhill snowboarding, but its not as much fun as snowkiting for me. I also used to swim three times a
week, but I changed job sites and lost access to the gym I was using. Havent found one to replace it yet.. dylanj423 - 1-10-2009 at 05:36 AM
hmmmm... the time that i am not studying , working, or kiting (1st of all, not much time at all), i play disc golf, golf, mountain bike, racquetball,
video games, and my personal fave.. naps.william_rx7 - 1-10-2009 at 05:56 AM

the main campaign in NWN was hard to get through. I never finished the HotU campaign. I did, however, get into the Persistent World stuff. That is
what I play these days. Dor Maeglin is the world I play in. Still a lot of fun. flyboy15 - 1-10-2009 at 06:58 AM
If I'm not kiting, im most likely flying around ND, MN and SD. Can't describe how cool of a hobby/career that is. otherwise Classes in the morning,
work friday sat. over time many of these have come and gone, but would jump at getting back into - paintball, rock climbing, mountainbiking, rc
planes, alot of things really
Mostly now its target and skeet shooting, ice hockey, Battlefield PR (only when my friends are playing, been months since so far), and whatever else
fits in my schedule.
Two things I really want to get into is hang gliding and scuba. U2U me if you have advice on either lad - 1-10-2009 at 07:22 AM
Summer at the beach: Boogie boarding and swimming on windless days (next year I look for a surfboard and kiteboard).
Also, a worn briefcase full of my 25+ year Boomerang collection share the trunk w/ my kites.
Inland: Bikes on windless days, or R/C flying (but not so much anymore).
Oh yeah...sitting in front of the computer all day....can't forget that one! cheezycheese - 1-10-2009 at 09:38 AM
I used to ride motorcycles as well, my last bike was a '94 Honda CB1000. wifey put the kibbash on that when we started havin kids. currently i keep
aquariums. at one point i had seven tanks going (but i honestly don't have an addictive personality:wink2salt water, fresh water, fancy goldfish you name it. have most of the current gaming systems cuz of the kids, but only
play when they ask me to join (but I still got skillz they are amazed at how i polish them off on driving games) also used to be into bmw's but too
expensive after a while (had a 540i 6speed:wee.
i argue to my wife that my hobbies are better than having a drug habit, but they always seem to be at least as expensive if not more... i'm sure you
all can relate. love music- going to concerts, used to bootleg 'em for my own personal collection(you didn't hear me say that). love most gadgets
especially electronic ones.... yadda yadda yaddaf0rgiv3n - 1-10-2009 at 09:46 AM
I'm full time school and work at this time so I don't a lot of time to even get out flying. But in the summer I'm usually camping or just hanging out
with the family. I LOVE snowboarding, longboarding, whateverboarding... I played more videogames in the past but lately i've been trying to wane
myself from them(PC games neways), except for the wii!! Gotta love the multiplayer fun on the wii. Otherwise daydreaming is a big hobby of mine, takes
up most of my day... :Dripsessionkites - 1-10-2009 at 01:07 PM

All the board sports, mainly skateboarding, Running, bodybuilding, supplement experimentation (all legal of course),
ON Whey, L-Arginine, Leucine, GNC mulitivitamin sport, Glutamine, fish oil, are my current supplements. Im about to introduce some creatine soon.
Optimum Nutrition whey as the greatest mix of amino acids on the market. Best whey out there in my opinion. Ice cream vanilla is a great flavor:Dredtailin - 1-10-2009 at 08:16 PM

My primary hobbies revolve around my two sons and my family. Taking them soccer games, playing basket ball, going fishing or hiking or snowshoeing or
skating or skiing in the winter. For "me time" aside from kiteboarding and kite skiing, I still enjoy flying my dual line kites, landscaping, weight
training, skimboading, boogie-boarding, watching the birds that come to my feeders and the wildlife in my yard (80 acres of conservation land in my
backyard brings in lots of animals). I love spending time outside in my yard planting things, trimming trees, moving shrubs, building stone walls,
etc. Also enjoy reading scripture, listening to 80s hair band music and conservative talk radio. OK, I know the three of those don't go together too
well but when you give each its space, it works dgkid78 - 2-10-2009 at 08:11 PM
I love to travel. I fly for free on US Airways... So I do a couple of weekend/day trips through out the year. Been doing Halloween week down in
