Recently bought myself a peter lynn twister (2 5.6m), its an upgrade on my old trainer.
But have a issue... rig the kite up as per instructions, using a powerbar. Attached all the lines as per the instructions.
Get ready to lift and boom kite just does a right turn and goes upside down pointing into the ground.
Have checked the length of the two "brake" lines and they appear perfect.
Detached them and kite flys fine with just the two outside lines although control is a bit rubbish.
Any ideas on what could be causing this???
Thanks.. all advice and criticism welcome!

Not intending to sound mean, but are you absolutely certain that you have all the lines hooked up to the correct location on both the kite and the
bar? I don't have experience with a Twister, so I don't know what set-up it uses, but I know that I've messed up a line attachment once or twice.
Oh, and welcome to PKF. I'm sure someone here will be able to help with the problem :D.Bladerunner - 1-10-2009 at 06:46 AM
Handles or bar?
handles, front lines on top , brakes on bottom. Be sure you aren't applying any brake .
Bar, lines from bar to front. brakes to safety attachment.
It will fly better on handles.cheezycheese - 1-10-2009 at 06:49 AM
welcome to PKF. sorry i can't answer your problem, but where are you located. maybe you can hook-up with someone here to get things sorted...awindofchange - 1-10-2009 at 01:24 PM
Sounds to me like your brake lines are too short. On your bar, do you have longer leaders for the brake line attachments? Check to make sure that
when you lay out your bar, all four attachment points are at the exact same length from the bar. If not, you will need to adjust your leader lines
off the bar so that they are equal.
If the brake lines are to tight, when you try to launch it will cause the kite to either stall out and not rise to zenith or flip uncontrollably.
Hope that helps.DAKITEZ - 1-10-2009 at 03:06 PM

one set of your lines should be heavy or thicker looking than the other set. These would be your TOP / Power Lines. The other set is your BOTTOM /
Brake Lines.
you'll connect the Power to the outside of the bar, and the Brake lines to the center of the bar. cant remember if it has a trim adjuster on it but
you might need to let it all the way out at first.
if it still doesnt fly. your Brake lines might have too much Tension, so the quick solution is tie about a ~1" inch knot on your TOP Leaders on the
bar.acampbell - 2-10-2009 at 11:40 AM
If he has the stock PL Bar that comes with the Twister/ Bar combo, the yeah, he has a center brake line tension adjuster.
Brutha, good advice here and the give-away was your remark about it flying easily with the brake lines off. Nothing is backwards left/ right but
make sure they are not swapped top-to bottom and the brake lines / bottom lines go to the center pulley leads like RipSession says. Then figure out
how the center adjuster works and make sure it is all the way out/ loose. Then fly and gradually tighten until the turning gets tighter but not so
much that the kite goes all wonky again.
It will be normal for the brake line to appear to sag in a slight arc behind the kite. Their weight and aerodynamic drag will help add the necessary
tension.mougl - 3-10-2009 at 06:51 AM
Easiest way to fix that is: put it on handles Brutha-Africa - 7-10-2009 at 04:42 AM
Hey Guys... sorry as well as kite issue had PC issues keeping me away from reading the replies.
its awesome to have a community that responds, much appreciated!!
.. yeah checked I have the lines the right way.. multiple times.. lol.. just cause I had read about silly mistakes in other posts.
I will hopefully be out this weekend.. live in Edinburgh so we generally have wind, often gusty but generally allways wind. Will be going home tonight
and checking all the comments about the lines and let you know what the outcome is..
