Pass the Flexboardz ATB

bigkid - 2-10-2009 at 12:00 PM

If the opportunity comes up, if there is enough interest I will pass mine or a demo board around for input and responses.....
any takers?
I have a Haize board coming, and that would be the board I would send around.

sp4cem0nkey - 2-10-2009 at 12:30 PM

FlexboardzUSA - 2-10-2009 at 04:11 PM

Sounds like a plan guys, Jeff from Big Kid Kites has offered to take on the exchange. I'll be shipping him one when we receive our shipment. Pass it around and give us some feedback, Kip

I am not sure, as where it goes has a bit to do with it. It will go as one piece and not broken down, I hope or we will see.

Seattle to Miami with insurance, $30.00.

Hey BigKid,

Is NABX on your travel plans ?

I would LOVE to try this machine on the Dry lakes ( or hardpack beaches ) . It would not be right for me to try it in Van in the winter but if it is back from the pass by Spring and we meet up at NABX , I'm 1st in line :bouncy:

bigkid - 3-10-2009 at 07:07 PM

As of this very minute...I will be at NABX, but thats next year and my wife... the job... the trailer for my stuff... the dog... My plans have a way of changing, but right now, Yes I'll be there.

That was pretty much as I expected.

I would like to try this board but in the right loction. I'll pass on the pass but look forward to trying it out at Nabx . It may be next year but it's only about 6 months away! Six cold , wet , muddy months away:ticking:

Drewculous - 7-10-2009 at 08:38 AM

if it goes thru, i'd like to be on the list for sure! These boards look pretty sweet! Thanks Biggie!!!

ripsessionkites - 7-10-2009 at 09:04 AM

put me down for trying it at the SOD Farm, if not at NABX ... I wanna see how this thing does.

Im in the market for a new lighter board right now.

lynx69 - 7-10-2009 at 04:34 PM

Put me down on the list also. I plan on attending NABX but there is a lot of riding time between now and then. Funny I was just thinking about if a new board was in my near future. Thanks for the invite.:bouncing:

Flexboardz

wndpwrdude - 9-12-2009 at 12:02 PM

My name is Dave and I bought a Haize about 2 years ago direct from Flexboardz in France and paid about $1000 to get it here..."sometimes no risk no rewards". My buddy and I took turns pulling each other around the neighborhood behind his motorcycle...dumb dumb dumb...I know, but there was no wind that day. We both had a blast and came through it unscathed and big smiles. I have been called crazy more than once about all my endevers, but I can assure you guys, this board is the Rolls Royce of skateboards. The board defines plush and inspires confidence no matter ability. I have let many friends take a ride and they all agree it's a bench mark in skateboard design. All boards have their weaknesses and this one is no different. The only major maintenence involves keeping all the deck to rail screws tight or locktighting them and replacing the rubber washers/bushings when they wear out. My Haize weighs about 20lbs, 10lbs of which are probably wheels and tires. I run slicks for parking lots and they work fine on packed sand as well. The Haize is heavy for jumping but I leave my jumping for over water. It's made for great ground handing...you don't need a special board to jump with...just something that don't break. If I wanted to jump a Flexboardz I would definity get a smaller one. I have been at wind skating about 18 years now starting with modified skateboards and windsurfing sails. Since then I have tried some of the craziest boards, skates, sails, and kites imaginable. This ones a keeper and
This review and my one time presence on this forum is based solely on the fact this board and it's designer deserve my thanks. I have worn 3 sets of tires out and my friends are ready to get one as soon as they are available. I have allready contacted Flexboardz to put my order in for the smaller Karrika. I do a lot of parking lot windskating and when the wind gets lighter I sometimes have to resort to using a longboard with big urethane wheels. There is no match for pnematic tires (first time your urethane stops dead on a tiny rock you will understand) and the Flexboardz truck design and I believe the lighter Karrika with the smaller high pressure tires will provide less rolling resistence. If any body has any more questions..."thekitedude@aol.com" If you really have the passion for the ultimate board...this is the one. Good winds to all of you..........

wndpwrdude - 9-12-2009 at 12:09 PM

One more thing...please forgive my writing and grammer...should have proof read it better....It's windy and I got in hurry....hope you guys got the message though....

later on....
Dave

dgkid78 - 9-12-2009 at 01:37 PM

Hmmmm

bigkid - 9-12-2009 at 04:07 PM

wndpwrdude thanks for the input, we are all waiting for a chance to try the board, good to know the board has some loyal followers.

lynx69 - 9-12-2009 at 10:46 PM

I am starting to drool

bigkid - 1-2-2010 at 07:33 AM

Is anybody out there?

erratic winds - 1-2-2010 at 06:04 PM

I've wanted to try one of these for awhile now, but the reps I've spoken to have not been able to direct any product to Colorado.(though the website is built by a colorado company....) What's happening? Is this being passed or not? If so, can I get in?

bigkid - 1-2-2010 at 10:52 PM

The guys from Flexboards seem to have disappeared. I haven't heard a peep in a couple of months, Maybe they got stuck in customs:dunno:

erratic winds - 1-2-2010 at 11:46 PM

Huh, they kind of did the same thing when I tried to set something up with them on myspace...moving right along then, ....nothing

bigkid - 22-3-2010 at 09:43 PM

Hellooooooooooo outttttttttt innnnnnn cyberrrrrrrrrr spaceeeeeeee, any body at Flexboardz?

erratic winds - 22-3-2010 at 11:00 PM

I just emailed flexboardz asking why their rep "kip" had made promises he was not keeping to a group of people.

I also explained that this group of people he was disappointing included a number of people who:
1. own stores who may sell the product
2. own ATB boards who may buy the product

Hopefully a representative who is interested in actually building any rep (AND MAKING SOME @#$%^ SALES) will contact me/us

Jeff-for the record, in the first post, you "have a haize coming".... I take it you never got one?

bigkid - 23-3-2010 at 06:00 AM

Well in all fairness, a new manufacture, products shipping from other country's, and all the other crap that has to be dealt with, not a lot you can do.
But you have to keep the lines of communications open!!!!!!!!

After I got the Christmas card from them, showing the pallet of boards in the warehouse, I was told they will be in the states in about a month.

So, needless to say I have no board, no word and have run very short on patience.

And no response to my latest email.

Maybe they are hooked up with Ozone

bigkid - 23-3-2010 at 06:20 AM

Just read my emails...got this from Patrick,

"Sorry for my late reply...
Here are the last news : boards are now sailing toward Europe and USA and they will arrive in early April...they are late but will be there soon......"

erratic winds - 23-3-2010 at 04:28 PM

[quote=patrick@flexboardz]"....they are late but will be there soon......"

They were going to be here soon in 12/2009 as well, right?
It's on a boat, should we worry that pirates are after the flexboarrrrrrdz?

bigkid - 8-7-2010 at 10:29 PM

Well good news.......

I have a board on the way as I type, should be here in about a week or less.
I am going to keep the board for a few days and have a few locals try it out and then it's up for the grand tour around the Forum. If you are still interested in a tryout of the board, now is the time to sign up.
The regular rules apply, keep it for a few days to a week and ship it to the next one on the list. I will pay shipping and insurance to the 1st person and then each one will do the same to the next one on the list.
I would like to keep everything up front, email the next person on the list after you and set up the info needed to do the shipping and then let the forum know where it is and who has it.
Sorry, no newbies on the list. If you have previous ATB experience and have been around for a while, than chances you get to be on the list. You may even need a reference from an oldie on the forum.
Just don't want to end up with problems before the thing gets around to a few people.
I will start a new post for the list.
