Peter Lynn ARC 8.4

Slow (compared to Blade 4.9, Frenzy 5.0, HQ Beamer 3.6), very difficult to fly in low winds. It's really too big for a beginning landboard / snowboard user.

im thinking of buying one of these for kiteboarding (mountain boarding) just wondering the lift and best wind range of this kite?

or any arc type kite from peter lynn 840 or above?

dave jones - 12-3-2006 at 11:46 AM

does anyone think that the arc 840 is similar to the blade 7.2?

Dave,

Sorry so late responding. I see from your signature that you got an 8.4 S-ARC. Let me know if you agree:

- The kite doesn't really seem to pull, until you get it moving.
- I don't think the kite pulls nearly as hard as similarly sized foil kite. Once
it's up and running, my 8.4 pulls as hard as my 5m Frenzy.

I've had some really good land boarding sessions with the kite, but I'm really not all that crazy about inflating it...

Then there was a nasty incident with a big gust, a pine tree, a roll of patching tape, and a new set of lines, UGH!

well i found it quite similar to my friends 7.2 blade in a 8mph wind and it dragged me a fair way but i have never flown a frenzy 5m.i find it lifts when its not moving but hardly and pull when its not moving! i love the kite though! the inflation is annoying but its always worth it because the kite is great!
