Does this mean we have to plan a welcome meet too? Sounds like a good reason to get the group together BeamerBob - 4-11-2009 at 12:14 PM
Hey I got my own thread too! Thanks for starting this Tridude. I was eyeing this weekend for a trip to Jekyll and then found out Angus was not going
to be on the beach this weekend so turned my compass towards Charleston. Now life is caving in around me and the wind is low to no go with high tides
just after lunch. Dates that still have life are the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and the weekend of December 5th. I'll pull the trigger on one of
those pretty much regardless of conditions just for a chance to bid farewells to some great guys that have certainly become friends and will continue
to be regardless of the 3000 or so miles. I'll listen to the drumbeat to see if one date or the other floats to the surface with conditions or
ability for the most SoFKA guys to attend. I hope we can have lots of kites in the sky. Wow, the reality of this is starting to sink in.:shocked2:BeamerBob - 4-11-2009 at 12:16 PM

I most certainly would love a chance to put some faces with names of the Nor Cal crew. Did someone mention homebrew? OH and I have this chip on my
tooth............... tridude - 15-11-2009 at 07:37 PM
your clock is ticking...................OBTW can you get "sweet tea" out there.....................:duh::duh:tridude - 15-11-2009 at 07:40 PM
Nates back this weekend......Fri or Sun........depends on if he stays for the LSU game Sat.........................lets us
know.........................:duh::duh:BeamerBob - 15-11-2009 at 10:08 PM
My dates available are still the same but I see it being more likely on the weekend of December 5th. Any preferences?Kamikuza - 15-11-2009 at 10:55 PM
Where you going Bob? Been transferred or something?BeamerBob - 16-11-2009 at 04:31 AM

your bash...........your call.....................JI works for me.............................:duh::duh:acampbell - 16-11-2009 at 06:35 AM
December 5 weekend looks good here. All welcome. Been a while since we had the SoFKA gang down here. Let's make it a bash. Low tide at 5:00 but
with the few people on the beach, it is usable after 12 noon till dark.Kamikuza - 16-11-2009 at 06:48 AM
Ooh sunny California - that can't be all bad Todd - 16-11-2009 at 09:30 AM
Good luck Bob, I won't be able to make it down to meet you but hopefully I'll run into you at NABX someday.brplatz - 16-11-2009 at 10:16 AM
Stop by ABQ on the way to Cali! I think you said something about it, but I didn't fully understand.
Depending on when your moving, I might not only be the one here with a Syn lol
BrianDAKITEZ - 16-11-2009 at 10:20 AM
no sweet tea here. I take that back Mickey D's just started offering it. If you say you want sweet tea in a restaurant they will look at you like your
stupid or something and hand you some sugar packs.tridude - 17-11-2009 at 05:16 AM
sweat tea is over-rated..................sun tea is the best..........................Is Pokite still around and is he going to make your event?
:puzzled::puzzled::dunno::dunno::duh::duh:BeamerBob - 17-11-2009 at 11:15 AM
Oh dang. No sweet tay! That is one of the food groups isn't it? I'll have to get my fix at Mickey D's I guess. Mixing in sugar just isn't the same
as when the tea is still hot from brewing.
I think we nail this visit down on Saturday December 5th. I'll probably come down to stay with some friends on Friday night, then head to Jekyll from
about an hour away late morning. Then go till its the turtles turn to own the beach. I hope most of the regular Sofka crew can make it and any
others that can get it on their schedule. I need one more ride with you guys before we get separated.
BR I'll be going through ABQ on the 15th or 16th of December in the car, so we should try to get together then. You getting an arc between now and
then?brplatz - 17-11-2009 at 05:24 PM
I have an Arc now, but depending on how things go, my friend might have one too, but for now he just flies FB's
I'll make sure I have nothing planned for the 15th or 16th.

BBob,
Bring your wet suit/dry suit..............................you need to try the new 165x50 if the winds are down................quite a bit more
"refined" than my original plydoor.......it has a two tier stepped deck with actual foot pads and straps...............2 tip fins (heel side) from KGB
kiteboarding..............:duh::duh:kitedog - 18-11-2009 at 08:20 AM
I'm going to try to make it. I've got some conflicts on Saturday so I might not be able to come down until Sunday though. Will you guys still be
there?
GregBeamerBob - 18-11-2009 at 11:00 AM
I'll throw the suits in for high tide and in case the wind is blowing down the beach. That board ought to plane my pie laden carcass pretty well.
Greg, I might be able to stay the night and hit the sand again on Sunday. I'll have to see how the arrangements and obligations work out. Thanks for
trying to make it, I want to see as many of you guys as I can before heading out. :bigok:tridude - 29-11-2009 at 04:06 PM
(cough/cough.......clear throat) is this Saturday folks.....who is gonna be there???????....................forecast on windfinder looks good for
static, buggy, KGB, and H2O................................:duh::duh:tridude - 29-11-2009 at 04:09 PM
all day for water activities...............pm buggy/KGBin.............................:duh::duh:BeamerBob - 29-11-2009 at 06:26 PM
I'm in for sure. I should be there mid to late am Saturday and there till the turtles take over. If the turtles don't have precedence we should have
a fairly bright moon though. I'll have the buggy, kiteboard, and pretty sure Wexler will be in attendance with KGB. No Montana though apparently.PHREERIDER - 29-11-2009 at 07:10 PM
ok i'm in

Low tide at about 5:00pm, so much of the afternoon will be useful. No rush to get there before noon or even 1 pm; as it will be a spring tide and
the high tide at 10:30 am will be quite high - practically in the dunes.
Too early to predict winds at this point as the forecasts can change daily.
Looking forward to see everyone in any event.tridude - 30-11-2009 at 10:34 AM

I'm checking with a few locals... Johnny... RobbBeamerBob - 2-12-2009 at 09:59 PM
The wind forecast is edging up to 12-13 but is NW now. Out come the arcs for the lumpys.acampbell - 3-12-2009 at 06:38 AM
Local Instructor Robb VanWie is in. He wants to ride my Neo but I have to break it to him that it is gone and I don't have the II yet. I sense an
Arcumcision.
Winds now forecast NE turning N in the afternoon for a sideshore, 15-20.kitedog - 3-12-2009 at 07:48 AM
What forecast are you looking at? The ikitesurf forecast shows a strong westerly component on Saturday afternoon.
Gacampbell - 3-12-2009 at 07:52 AM
NOAA
SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS BECOMING NORTH 15 TO
20 KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET. INLAND WATERS
CHOPPY. SHOWERS LIKELY IN THE MORNING...THEN SCATTERED SHOWERS IN
THE AFTERNOON.
on the south end looks nice for water launch @ low .
not sure of the North wind presentation for the ocean front looks a fraction side off.BeamerBob - 3-12-2009 at 08:31 AM
windmapper shows 9-12 NW through the afternoon. Battle of the forecasters. I hope the rain isn't much of an issue. There should be an arc or two
(or a dozen) for him to try out.PHREERIDER - 3-12-2009 at 06:53 PM
guys i'm not gonna be able to make JI for Bob's east coast closer. 8 year old's piano recital takes rank. failed to check with the wife before
jumping off. looks like a wet puff coming from the North/NE. just after high tide jump on a NE ( side on ) sounds good to me, check radar to see
when the heavier AM rain pushes thru should decent after that . probably gonna be cold. gloves! head cover want hurt.tridude - 5-12-2009 at 10:42 AM
Im out as well......just got home from the Daniel Island Tennis center and my daughters high school chorus Christmas show which was
