Flexifoil Blade III 4.9m

Thinking about a Blade III? Read on about this great kite.

I've had this 4.9 meter for some months now and just today had a chance to fly it for an hour or so. It's usually too windy where I buggy for this size kite. This is my only Blade III. My others are Blade IIs. I've been flying Blades for four years mostly from a buggy on fast and slow surfaces.

This kite is a blast to fly. When launched it jumps right up to the zenith and stays there. It turns as fast, maybe faster than my Blade II 4.0. It resists overflying the window very well but does fold up a tip once in a while when turning at the edge of the window. Upwind penetration is excellent especially on a fast surface. It has strong predictable power. Brakes are effective and the kite is easy and smooth to park.

Construction is excellent. Bridle lines are sewn. Gauze covers the inlets of the cells. Handles are very comfortable and are excellent quality. There are velcro tabs for attaching bridle lines when flying lines are detached.

I would rate this kite a 10. It does everything I need and more. You definitely get what you pay for with a Blade III 4.9.

After reading all the hype, I finally got my hands on a 4.9m Blade III.

Man, this thing is sweet - fast and strong as heck. Even in low winds (10 mph) it produces quite a punch.

Overall, I'm impressed...:D
