new kiteloop trick needs a name!

Flying G Zeus - 8-11-2009 at 03:03 PM

I invented a new trick today. I just need a little help coming up with a decent name for it. This trick was performed on water and not recommended for landboarding. Ok, here's the trick:

-First, you need the right conditions- about 20 knots min.

-To start, wipe out hard face first into the bar- this gives the best possible chance of looping a steering line around one end of the bar and thereby shortening one steering line significantly.

- Ok, now you're ready for kiteloops- about 8 of them. At this point you should be able to run on water for a short distance. Very exhilirating!

- To end the trick, crash the kite. Release the kite and swim for shore. Forget about the board, it's long gone.

- after about 30 minutes untangling lines you're ready to do it again.

Well that's it. Since there's already a trick named "the jesus walk", need a bit of help with the name. Anyone got any suggestions?

zeus loop swirly

all the humility one kite can deliver, and truly a divine experience with no ones help but your own. And as well, an Olympic level move complete with 2mile swim

champion, absolutely champion

just curious, what kite were you on?

ragden - 9-11-2009 at 06:53 AM

Wow. Glad to hear you are alright. Sorry you lost your board.

I was using the 9m Waroo. The board was eventually recovered. And no kiters were killed during this trick. In fact, I didn't really get banged up too bad- but it would have been different if I were close to ....shore, anything.

I don't take myself too seriously, and just thought it would be funny to post.

couldnt get to your safety?

Flying G Zeus - 10-11-2009 at 08:23 PM

Glad you asked, I unhooked the chicken loop and let the bar go... but with so many kiteloops the lines became so twisted they were bound together! The kite remained powered up and dragged me by the leash. Once the kite crashed, I released the leash and held on to a steering line. Eventually, the kite came under control with the tension off the lines.

Lesson: a lot of line :twists equals no control. Same as when you tangle kites with another kiter, but that's a whole other trick.:o

I mean you couldnt get to it before the kiteloops?

Glad to hear you are o.k. Now for naming the trick How about "Fish out of water"

Or "Shark Bait Shuffle"

Sounds like you had a heck of a ride. Better days to you!

Had some similar loops going on just before I got control / line from around handle then powered up for a nice little dirt eating OBE.

Whether on land or water I'd just call it the (WTF) trick. Least thats what I said.

Funny post, thanks for sharing.
