The waist harness that I have does not have a plastic like cord across the back of it for the kite leash to hook into like I have seen on some newer
harnesses. Instead I have to hook the kite leash onto either the left or right metal loop on either side of my harness. Athough I cannot do them yet,
I realize that this will cause problems if I do a 360 as the kite leash will be wrapped around my whole body and will not have enough slack to
comfortably ride. I was thinking about tying a strong but not too big rope between the metal loop on the left side and the one on the right and would
have the rope pass around my back. I would use this in place of the plastic like cord. Would this work and is this a good idea?brplatz - 9-11-2009 at 09:01 PM
Yeah you want the smooth part on the RHS of the pics, not the wiggly thing on the left. You can buy generic ones that larks head onto one ring, then
clip onto the other ...
I believe you really only need these if you're doing unhooked handlepasses ... but it's handy to be able to switch which side the leash is on power - 9-11-2009 at 09:16 PM
Yea thats the thing I'm talking about. Do you think the rope idea would work?syuzhak - 9-11-2009 at 09:17 PM
The leash won't go around your body when youre doing 360s or backrolls!
The bar always stays in front of you when you spin. Just try walking a 360 under your kite on the ground.
Your harness and leash setup is perfectly fine, until you start doing handlepasses.power - 9-11-2009 at 09:21 PM
O yea now that I think about it you're right. What are handlepasses if I'm flying with a bar?syuzhak - 9-11-2009 at 09:24 PM
You pass the bar behind your back, while in the air. I only hope to do one of those macboy - 9-11-2009 at 09:27 PM
I did a handle pass last winter but I did it in front of me.....and there was a good 8 seconds between letting go with one hand (running after the
bar) and grabbing it with the other hand
So much to learn......syuzhak - 9-11-2009 at 09:32 PM
New Trick........Awesome!indigo_wolf - 9-11-2009 at 10:51 PM

Rope would work, but may snag once it gets worn ... and how would you attach it? Knots would be bulky and painful if you landed on them. The real ones
are like chicken loop with a 5mm line inside ...power - 10-11-2009 at 05:20 AM
Attach it with knots. I think there's enough padding on the side, so I'll try it out.Kamikuza - 10-11-2009 at 06:45 AM
... larS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s head on one end - how about the other :D gonna look real kludgy though ...
