Well it was a bust. The rain never really stopped. After 4 years, the lake is full to the brim taking all the beach away right when I actually could've used it. From Google maps, the site at Fort Gordon looked great, but when I got there, the wide open spot at the end of the road has a power line running right down the middle of it. Even with an assisted launch to the side of the window, you have a 19,000 volt line 80-100 feet downwind of you. I just couldn't justify trying it. I looked at some other spots and since this is the first time the lake has been full since I got into kiting, everything is different. It looks like the swimming beach at West Dam (right beside the dam) is a great place to setup and hit the water but that section is closed for the season. There is wind tomorrow, so maybe I sneak in a give it a go. Also, not as much wind as was forecast. I went thinking 13m venom but in reality, the synergy would've been perfect I think.
