Flying Characteristics
Great low-end power and large wind-range
The Charger has an amazing wind range. Its good low-end performance, combined with the quick and easy turning, allows you to ride a smaller kite than you would have previously chosen in any given wind speed, without compromising the top end that the Twinskin kites are known for. The Charger’s wind range will give you the confidence to ride in any condition, no matter how gusty the wind is.

Responsive and easy control
The Charger turns surprisingly quick and flies smoothly. This kite challenges you to do kite-loops and go big. It can either be flown with slack or tight rear lines, its flying and turning speed are not affected by the rear line tension; this makes it a suitable kite for various riding styles.


Amazing lift and long float
One of the best things about kiting is going big! The profile shape of the Charger, in combination with the speed of the kite gives good lift, for extremely high jumps. The large amount of float stands for longer airtime to perform supreme tricks and steady landings.


Great Pop
The Charger has a lot of Pop. You can load up the kite and get an explosive pop from the kite. This makes new school tricks with the Charger a piece of cake.

Stability and Auto-Zenith
As with all Twinskins, the Charger has an incredible stability. When parking the kite above your head, it does not luff or collapse. Control bar


The complete version of the Charger will be delivered with the Peter Lynn Navigator bar. The main features of this new bar:

Centrix depower loop - The depower loop with easy to release and re-assemble safety release, as well as an integrated swivel. The safety system on one front line in combination with the swivel is completely tangle free.

Dual size end caps - The specially designed end caps allow you to set the bar size quickly to match your kite size, conditions and personal preference.

Free sliding stopper on long dual depower line - The stopper can be moved along the depower line to any position. The bar movement along the depower line can be increased for more depower or reduced to take the load off your arms without lowering power in the kite.


Center top line with V-split - The top centre line splits approximately 10m from the bar, increasing the kite’s depower and rigidity in flight.

High durability and easy replacements - The Navigator bar is manufactured using top quality materials and high-tech construction methods. This ensures an extremely durable and safe control bar. As with all bars, in the long term parts can wear. The Navigator is designed in such a way that these parts can quickly and easily be replaced.

The Navigator control bar can be purchased in combination with the Charger or as bar only.

Twinskin Technology

The Charger is a Peter Lynn Twinskin kite. The kite consists of two layers of fabric with a set of profiles in between. When the kite crashes on the water, the taped seams as well as the valves behind the air inlets prevent the air escaping from the kite as well as any water getting in, for a quick and easy re-launch.
Some of the great advantages of this style of kite are:

Very clean airflow around the wing, both the top skin and the bottom skin are shaped for maximum performance and lift.
No bladders or tubes that can burst, the kite is more resistant to wear & tear. Twinskins are very durable and reliable kites.
Even weight distribution as the complete kite is made of the same material. This makes the kite incredibly stable. No heavy leading edge causing the kite to luff. Ideal for practicing new tricks.
Auto-zenith feature, when letting go of the bar with your depower loop hooked in, the kite automatically flies up to the zenith. The kite basically flies itself!
Easy and cheap repairs as the material are all solid Chikara Ripstop Nylon.

I can't wait as well! I read the newsletter this morning and hopefully a 12m in blue will be sitting under the Christmas tree.

And don't forget in Canada the dealers in Ontario have been by far the largest sellers of Peter Lynn Twin Skins right from the beginning. There are a number of dealers across Canada in many provinces that have carried the kites through the Canadian Distributor and many will continue to sell Peter Lynn Brand (Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, PEI).
I've been riding and selling Peter Lynn in Canada right from day one with the Arcs having the highest Canadian sales for twinskins but I would absolutely recommend and support going with your local dealer first.
Sorry if you want to start calling out dealers that's nice but be fair and mention them all.

what does that mean? for me it looks as if the leading edge is straight (kite flat on the ground, tip - to tip )
or does it mean that the airfoil profile (profile from leading edge to trailing edge, formed by the panels inside the kite) has a concave middle section, as can be seen here:



but is that really new? my scorpion seems to have that reflexive profile, too! (maybe not that pronounced)

what might be the effect of such a profile?
can someone here dig out the patent ? some link?

Rumor I heard was that Naish had to license the patent for their Helix type kites with the indented leading edge from PL. Could just be rumor, but Peter is pretty good at getting patents in place to protect R&D.

The Bomba was probably the kite I noticed it the most in.

Very true.......so here's a shout out for my local dealers. If you're up in the Northeast you could hit up Jay at Powerline Sports (in NH) or Rachel at Stormboarding up in VT.

Powerline set me up with a nice closeout 12m Synergy. And they'll be there on the beach to help you get it dialed in if you need it.

some navigator bar questions:

*can one call the new navigator bar a "long throw" bar? so you can let go of the bar and be totally depowered (max depower the kite can deliver)? or will the kite still be powered up if the adjuster is not pulled?

* does the largest navigator bar have a longer throw? or is the only difference the bar width?

* can i say: i wanna have a 12m charger rtf, but with the big 65 cm bar instead of the mid size 55 cm bar?

I would think you would want the 50cm bar for that kite. I had a 12 synergy and it would've been out of hand with the large bar I fly my big kites with. The charger is supposed to be faster turning if that's possible.

And if it turns so fast/tight, wouldn't a 45cm bar be huge for the 6m? I fly my 8m Syn on a 40cm, and it is plenty big on 24m lines.

its good to see the Charger 19 flying in 6 to 8 knots.

the Charger 19 looks to be generating enough power at 8 knots for the dude in the video. the only thing is his surface sucks.

i got my 12m charger yesterday and i made a how to set up vid. just uploading it and will post a link when its finished. didnt get to ride as it was going dark when i finished and ive just checked the weather forecast for the next few days and there isnt much wind about so you might have to wait for a performance review. the navigator bar looks the dogs dangles!!!

Carl, I noticed you attached your safety leash onto the figure 8 and passed that through the chicken loop, but how would that serve any kind of safety purpose? The main safety breaks the chicken loop's integrity and in the process would disengage the leash from you. From what I can gather, that would mean you're completely untethered to the kite. Wouldn't the safety be attached to your spreader bar or handlepass line?

Maybe I'm missing something... or maybe thats why they call it a suicide leash?

when flying unhooked on a suicide leash you don not have a primary safety. when setting up for unhooked flying you tend to depower the kite completely so that it doesnt stall when you unhook, so if you loose the bar and go onto the suicide leash the kite is then also depowered fully. as you would've noticed, when i set up the leash i also attatched the safety line to the suicide leash. if you are still in trouble when the kite has depowered and auto zenithed then you can pull in the leash and activate the primary safety and if you are still in trouble, there is a secondary top hat release on the suicide leash,that is attatched to your harness, but this will detatch you completely from the kite.
if you just want to use the leash as a primary safety leash (as most user will) then only connect it to the safety line and do not attatch the double 0 ring to the chicken loop.

carl, whats your first impression flying the charger? what has most notably changed in comparison to the synergy ?
your charger was nicely and very completely pre-inflated - how long did you have to wait for that? wind seemed to be relatively low ... (or did you helped with a blower / fan at the end to maximally preinflate?)

did you noticed the promised higher turning speed? more rigid kite? autozenit still good?

i only actually flew it for 5mins as it was getting abit dark and past my bed time, but the 12m is super nippy, it turns virtually on a wing tip. the inflate took about 3 mins then a little extra inflate just before i launched.

That Indian Chief's Head dress shape is more pronounced. At least the Demo I flew did.

It looks very much like a traditional C kite compared to previous arcs ?

The VP3 sure felt amazing then but I had never flown an arc with VP at all at that point.

since i got my charger last week, there has been zero wind!!! but ive just checked the forecast for the weekend and its starting to look promising!! if all goes well, ill be able to put the charger through its paces and give you a performance reveiw and hopefully get abit of a video together aswell.
