TIP: The advantage of lower tire pressure

Back in the old days, I'd pump up my 12 x 2.25 tires to 35 psi (the recommended max) and tear out across the desert. Fine enough for light to moderate wind, but as soon as it picked up, the wheels chattered, I fould it a strain to hold my sailing line and I retured to camp with bald tires.

Since then, I learned that reducing air pressure provided a smooth ride, more traction and less wear on the tread. I suggest experimentation to find the psi you prefer, but lately I run them all at about 15psi. They look a bit flat when you are standing still, but perform well once you get into a rolling position. Give it a try!
