It is with great regret to inform our buggying family, one of our colourful, and respected forum users Diego rider 4 from Italy had died from a freak buggying accident.

Diego Rider 4

http://www.diego-rider-4.it/

He got lifted with a flexi blade 4m with almost no wind, some other riders were riding with frenzy 10m without moving, he jumped and he took a gust probably

He landed on the back and broke his skull, and yes he was wearing a buggy helmet, it was the jobe brand, so please beware

RIP Diego

If you use that helmet I would be looking to get a different one! This is just a bad accident. You have a experienced pilot doing everything right ... safety gear, proper size kite for conditions, etc. and to have something like this happen

I had just became friends with Diego on FB and he seemed like a real cool guy. I would have liked to meet him one day.

That is just so sad .

My best Wishes to Deigo's family and kite buggy family.

R.I.P.

so sad to hear of this.... condolences to those that grieve his passing:(

:sniff: .... more than words can say.

Diego seemed like someone who was genuinely enthused with kiting and in love with his kites/buggies.

There are more than a few pictures where he's just beaming.

ATB,
Sam

My condolences to Deigo's family. Very sad to hear Rest In Peace Brother.

stetson05 - 16-12-2009 at 10:20 AM

Very sad to hear. It is true that this sport has unpredictable dangers. If it can happen to one so experienced it can definitely happen to me. Still more likely to happen driving to his favorite spot. So sad for his family. They are the ones that suffer most. My condolences.

This is very sad and sobering, and I hope his family is dealing well with it.

Really makes a guy think twice about leaving the gear in the bag. RIP brother. I can't imagine how hard the holiday season is going to be for those mourning. Peace to you and yours.
