All the stories of good riding and fun things to do in South Carolina inspired us to book a week in Charleston to hook up with Tridude and others.

nice , def plan a few sessions there, holy west sessions can be the hottest of the year! with nice flat spots to ride. if it's sunny could be 1st skins session of the season for some.

I can probably make it. And no I don't have a house there just staying for a week of vacation. You think the water will be warm enough to try some kitesurfing?

water should be low to mid 60s, 4/3 or 3/2 wetsuit, shorty, or rash guard depending on the day.............onshore, or side on shore thermals most every afternoon........................winds are very consistent that time of year.......................

I'm hoping to get in a lot of flying. I'm just hoping that there is wind. Is there any chance you could show me the ropes? I'm looking to get into it but I refuse to pay for a lesson.

do what I can....................I can show you the basics i.e.......launch and realunch, body dragging, board starts, etc..........................dont worry about wind Ive got a couple anti skunk tools and board that will get you going in next to nada..........................not too worry the wind WILL be blowing............................starteds a Kiawah thread for you power.....................back on PZs thread....................

My sentiments exactly.... makes for slow progress in my case tho... anytime I have a kite in the air it's all good!

Thanks tri. I'm hoping to meet up with you and as many other guys as possible when I go there. I better watch out though, if I fly too much in those super clean beach winds I'm not going to know what to do when I come back to D.C.!

Turns out I'll be there for a wedding the weekend prior. 12th, 13th, and head out the 14th I imagine. I'm hoping to slip away for a session with tridude. Hope it all works out. Wish my trip would match up with PZ but I'll feel lucky to hit the water at all.

wind and water are free BB and alwayz up for a fly with the PKF crowd...................we are spoiled here in the low country for sure..........this has to be one of the top 10 spots for kitesurfing in the states..................

sweet low wind session Saturday with Powerzone and his wife........................PZ has major board and flying skillz...........................I fly my 19m hard and nasty but nothing like John..............................winds were 9 to 12mph and I rode the 159 Door........................PZ rode his 134 Spleene RIP as well as the Door..........................temps were in the 70s and the beach crowds are back.........................PZ had quite the audience as he pulled trick after trick and some solid airs.........................................

thanks Phree, this weekend looks VERY promising and Power is at Kiawah................never flown there but theres always a first.................mid day low tides/wind direction looking good for land/H2O boarding...............................Beachwalker is public access and has no restrictions.....................posted three pics from Saturdays low wind session at station 28.5................

Well I've got plenty of kites and a board but I still have yet to pick up a wetsuit. Will I be able to tough it out in 60 degree water without one or will it be too uncomfortable?

power.. the water is not too bad, if your down in the water ALOT it will be rough, just hope its sunny. 2/3mm suit here is like $75 ton of sale stuff around

kiawah is hike to anywhere. its a 20 mile ride to main road, then another 25 to CHAS.

there i have no idea, might be one there. i know there;s not one on seabrook.

oh just remember they just put a new bunch of shops at the front, with an outdoor shop.

i remember it being very pricey. kinda boutique . i don't remember a surf shop specific.

On a S or SSW you can go down wind to the north tip of Kiawah..............I can work upwind past bird key to Kiawahs north end............takes about 30 mins.....................:o:o :thumbup:

its easier to drive to Beachwlaker park on the south end of Kiawah.......................do you drive or can get access to Sullivans Island or Folly Beach......................

friday West to North swing

then SAT looks NE and solid! rollers will be huge outside

SUN looks SE (tough call today) surf should be pounding

might could do beachwalker NOON SAT. sunday maybe.
