Synergy gone!

Kamikuza - 24-12-2009 at 10:14 PM

Charger is the only Twinskin listed on the PL sites now!
Nuts, I should have saved a copy of the wind ranges for the Syn kites ... anyone?

ripsessionkites - 25-12-2009 at 01:31 AM

Are those wind ranges for land?

WolfWolfee - 25-12-2009 at 08:26 AM

Kind of a bummer, really think they never gave the Scorpion a chance too.

power - 25-12-2009 at 08:29 AM

I don't understand why they don't still stock kites like the synergy and the scorpion. Its charger or nothing!

ripsessionkites - 25-12-2009 at 09:15 AM

we still have Syn 12m ... however the 15m was the #1 all-around size to have.

once you ride a Charger you understand why

i guess its time to get the Pass the Charger going.

lad - 25-12-2009 at 09:27 AM

uh-oh...don't even say that....better make it "pass the Charger_S" plural!
:wee::wee:

You think the 15 will be too much for me angus? I weigh 130lb and usually our winds aren't that great but if there is a decent enough wind to fly its usually around 12-18 gusting to 20-28.

carltb - 25-12-2009 at 10:14 AM

the synergy has been on sale for 2years, so if you wanted a new one you've had quite a while to get one. on the up side, there are plenty of synergy's out there and as everyone knows, arcs do really last for ever.

nope ... im 115lb and fly in the top end+ with the 15m. ask BR.
more wind = higher jump

there are different combinations on the kite and on the bar that will keep you going. the simplest way is just adjusting your bar trim in or out.
if you trimmed all the way in, you could easily hold onto the chicken loop with one hand and pass to your friend.

FloRider - 25-12-2009 at 01:08 PM

sign me up if someone starts a pass the charger. I'd love to compare it to my synergy. If its all everyone says it is i'd buy one

I'm a little confused now. I thought arcs had an incredible top end that could almost be a 1 kite quiver in reason . I need to do more homework about what size is right for me then. Thought it would be the 15m. But now I am thinking the 10m and keeping the montana 9.5 Unless there's a ton of adjustments and those wind ranges are for factory settings?

Bladerunner - 25-12-2009 at 07:52 PM

I was thinking that published top end was concervative ?

I'm only in the 140's and am happy with the 15 Syn up to about 25 mph. I'm a Wuss compaired to Rip' He'll take it to the 30's and is probably 99lbs !:P ( well ... 115? )

dgkid78 - 25-12-2009 at 08:06 PM

phew that makes me feel so much better BR . I thought it sounded a little conservative

Sweet. And the more wind higher jump thing sounds right up my alley:thumbup:

The top ends listed are conservative (most could go higher), but the bottom end is very liberal; you would need a huge board and a light person to go in 12mph with a 10m arc (if you could go at all)

Actually his is 115 lbs, but only after he has been towed back from the shipwreck by monty. Guess it's the waves that add the extra weight! :P

ripsessionkites - 26-12-2009 at 02:11 AM

the windrange I listed is based on water, however I would use that guideline more for LAND, and +2 - 4 knots for water. however if you had a Spleene Door / Surf, you would be riding in lighter conditions.

99lbs on land - 115lb soaking wet.

if had to pick only one SYN

lite riders/cruiser: 12m
average/heavy/jumper: 15m

they do have a lot of float see little asian guy: http://vimeo.com/5691177

Bladerunner - 26-12-2009 at 08:18 AM

I didn't have a wind meter with me but I am SURE I was moving in under 10mph wind on my new Charger and blades on turf ? As soon as I could get the pre-inflated kite to fly and before it was sitting happy at zenith. It is so fast and aggressive I could just fling and loop the kite all over to create power. I don't think Auto zenith kicked in until about 10mph + ? I can do similar with my 15m but not as aggressively.

Riding so underpowered is a drag !!!!! I'm NOT suggesting it was fun, just that I could make it work.

lad - 27-12-2009 at 11:24 AM

rose's kite look a little too small, heavy and under-aerodynamic - but they have a lot of lines! :moon:

yeah ,I chased em all over the forum this morning, even sent a u2u suggesting they go fly a kite before they get booted.

lynx69 - 27-12-2009 at 10:52 PM

Good one Weldngod, "get booted" since they are spamming shoe knockoffs. Very punny!
