Cooking Lake New Year's Day

Anyone planning on bringing in the new year properly with a bit of kiting? The forecast looks quite promising. 15 knots from the south more or less all day :wee: Finally time to go play in the snow!

winds just kicked up here to 25 km, with wind chill -41 and yes I'm packing up to head out...lol Fawcett Lake here I come. Crazy redneck Albertan's never let a little weather defeats us...lol.

Got bunged up today (of course) but planning on making up for it by spending the whole day out there tomorrow. Should be a light wind day to unleash the Flysurfers...looks light, but steady. I'll confirm tomorrow AM whether I head out or not.

If any of you made it out to Cooking let me know how it was today and hopefully we'll see you out there tomorrow. I could leave t now but by the time I got there I'd only have an hour to fly and I'd then be tempted to let myself ride the skis instead of forcing the learning to begin on the snowboard.

It was great yeasterday. Perfect winds for my 7.5 Apex. I was the only one out there for a while. A couple of other people showed up later in the afternoon when I was packing up as the wind was starting to die a bit.
