So after having a great snowkiting session on New Years day, I thought it would be nice to post one of my pictures on the weather network website. I
just thought that it would be a nice thing to post seeing as I'm on the site like ten times a day. A local worker for the paper took a look at my
picture and sent me a message asking if I could drop her a line the next time I head out for a session. She wants to do a small interview asking a few
basic questions and take a bunch of photos. Her idea is that I might be able to give enough info on the sport to help others in the area get an idea
of what it takes to get flying. Now I'm trying to figure out what I should prep for what kinda info I should give. I want to get others interested in
my area and think that this will be the best approach. I offered to her also that sometimes I like to take my trainer out on lighter days 20km and
under, and if she wanted to I'd be happy to let her fly it. So if you have any ideas please let me know.

We just got in the paper and it is cool to have people see it and start talking about it. Our biggest things were the different ways people can have
fun and also safety. We wanted people to realize we take safety seriously and that there are lots of ways to enjoy kiting. We also started a simple
local blog to try and connect with people locally. I post things like videos, conditions, when I might kite and links to PKF stuff. Just trying to
spread the wealth.
Good luck

Yeah I hope I can put a good impression on the sport for her. Since I started kiting I have had to explain the sport to quite a few friends and family
members who had no clue what I was talking about. Actually the only person who knew was a friend of my wife, from Scotland. When she asked what I was
up to my wife was in shock when she didn't have to give a detailed explanation of what I was doing. The lady was like "oh yeah my husband and I used
to watch the guys doing that all the time when we went to the beach".

People still (and will probably always) look at me sideways when I say I love to fly kites. I've found it easier to say "Kite Skiing" or "Kite
Buggying"....it at least prompts the obvious question without the quizzical "really......like a batman kite kite?" looks.
Then I pull out the Brooza with the big bat symbol on it ; )
You'll do great I know it. There's nothing like the stoke of a new kiter to hook others.
