1 Buggy, 1 Kite, 1 Passenger = Top Speed

not to get too technical but what are the clauses.

I've found my victim / , I mean passenger. ;-)

I assuming they must sit on a buggy with no extra modification like a rear seat.

1. do they have to sit on the rear axle?

2. can they sit on lap or inside seat (it will be tight)?

3. Was your passenger attached to the pilot or buggy so they wouldnt fall out backwards?

I like the seatbelt idea. That keeps them seated if you have a surprise gust/toddler/wave etc.

I still say 400 lbs of riders could really hold down some power. I'm thinking 20 mph winds might get you in the 50s with the biggest phantom you could hold down. Skirts need not apply.

Hey SHMH, I'm looking forward to the spring buggy bash too. Lots of tandem action I'm sure . I just hold on and go. No challenge rocfighter, but,,,,,,,, if Rip and I could get together I'm thinking we could break 90 with 2 kites one buggy:wee: . A couple of lightweight guys, 2 small race kites and some nukin winds,,,,,90 baby 90. I wish I could have made NABX this year. Sadly I just won't be able to get the time to make it. Maybe 2011. Good luck with your tandem runs Rip. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I'll take the back :singing:. If I notice you holding back on the throttle though I'll have to take over the controls. We'll be gunning for the dust devils. Makes me want to make NABX this year. Oh well. I'm ready for some psycho tandem runs across the playa in 2011.

Your definately right Bob. It takes a bit to get used to working in sync with another pilot so you can get the most out it. I'm not sure if you pick up any efficiency with 2 kites 2 buggies,,,,,,, it seems it would be the same as 1 kite 1 buggy :dunno: maybe some of the other guys can comment on it. I did try 2 kites 1 buggy this past summer with Buggydanny and we seemed to go on average 2mph faster than what we were doing seperately. It's an interesting experience when the back end of your buggy is breaking loose and your not the one doing it:o. Definately a barrel of laughs

I'll have my newest tandem trailer w/ me at WW . I'm still painting it so I got no pics yet.

Could be Bob. I wonder if anyone has gotten some measurements on this? The efficiency with 2 kites one buggy seemed pretty clear after we tried it. I'm assuming most of the benefit comes from the weight savings of not having the second 40+ lb buggy. All you guys going to NABX should convince Ozzy and friends to get a buggy train up into the 60's and beyond

I'm about done testing this rig now ,works great. And I'm not so sure you can go any faster w/ two bugs and two kites . But you will get up to speed much quicker. Me and my bro have been workin on tandem w/ 2 kites.

I still need to get those blingin rims and some big foots for it ,then it will be proper.
I still haven't shown pics of all the parts. I made long and short siderails and 3 different axle lengths . So I can make it a longer race buggy w/ wide alxes or shorter siderails and narrow axle width like a freestyle buggy. Also have 2 sets of forks ,1 for bigfoot tires and 1 for barrows tires. Axles are also interchangeable w/ trailer ,so it can be wide or narrow.

I will bring all the parts to WW this spring, as I know some of you want to see my worx.
