I'm looking at getting either an Ozone Cult or Riot.
Can someone tell me what the difference is between these two kites?
is one more suited to buggying / boarding, is one more geared towards beginners / racing one more stable than the other??
Any info you can give would be very helpful..

Ok- no cult experience but I have a 5m riot. My take would be exceptional ozone quality (as usual,) fast through the window, and just plain great
flying kite. What I say about it in the buggy would be that it is also a fairly lifty kite (not widowmaker grab you lifty like blades, but yes you
can static jump with it pretty nicely) so it seems to produce a lot more side pull than I want. My bug weighs about 100 lbs so if you were in a
lighter one I think it could be just too much side pull period. However my skills are a bit limited but this has been my experience so far with the
riot. Would I get ride of it? Nope. Better buggy engines out there? Yep. I think SCREWYFITS has a cult- maybe he can comment there. Hope this

Ozone Cult was a medium aspect ratio kite.
Ozone Riot was a high aspect ratio (race) kite.
No experience with either, so hopefully someone else can pipe in.
There are about 3 reviews on the Cult and 10 reviews on the Riot on racekites.com
Did you want to use the for board, buggy or static? What size were you looking at? What else have you flown?

I have a 3.5 cult thats great in the bug. Very little lift and not much side pull. Holds it shape very well in a stall. I have only been super-maned

Owned and flew both kites.
The Cult and the Riot are both older models from Ozone. The Riot was listed towards the intermediate to advanced pilots where the Cult was geared
towards beginner to intermediate pilots. The riot is a higher aspect ratio kite than the Cult but not as high aspect as the Razor/Yakuza's.
Both kites are excellent in quality and construction - top of the line Ozone products. The Cult was geared more towards buggying and the Riot a
little more towards boarding because of its higher glide to lift ratio. The Riot can pop you off the ground pretty easily if you fly it right. The
Riot also had much more speed through the window and better power on the edge than the Cult.
The Riot was discontinued and replaced by the Haka which had even more lift and performance.
The Riot / Haka / and the Cult have all been discontinued and are no longer in the current production of Ozone's lineup.
Currently Ozone has no replacement for the HAKA or the Riot - so there's no choice on that one but the Flow has replaced the Cult and is far superior
in speed, stability and control and is an awesome kite for the buggy. I would seriously consider getting the Flow instead of the Cult - even if the
Cult was quite a bit cheaper in price.

Picked up a 5m Flow after SOBB 09. Love this kite. Smooth power up. Granted it doesn't munch gusts like an ARC, but it's not a widow maker either.

I plan on using the kite for static flying at the moment - inland flying too..
however, I plan on trying out buggying or boarding once my skills improve.
I'd rather do boarding but don't have any other board experience, never been a skateboarder / snowboarder etc, so it might be quite a steep learning
curve. so the bug might be a better bet lol.
as for previous experience, i've had a go on a 2.5m Rage, which was mental fun. far more pull than I expected from 2.5m of material floating in the
sky! I also had a go with a 3m Radsail which was rubbish. that did feel like a piece of cloth wafting about. and i was offered a go on his 4m Ozone

I agree with awindofchange, the Ozone Flow is an awesome kite. I own a 5m and am considering buying a 2 or 3 m just to cover a larger wind range.
Another great kite, if you don't mind spending more $ is the Ozone Access XT, which comes in 4-10 m sizes if you like depower kites. I use both for
landboarding, and have been told that both will work as great buggy engines. Anything from Ozone is going to be worth the money.heliboy50 - 23-1-2010 at 12:38 PM

Totally the kite my bro-in-law needs but no cash. I tried brokering one deal like that and ended up buying myself a kite accidentally.
