Simply Awesome -Sy's video reposted

Seeing the guy sitting waiting to go in his (new?) homebuilt bug was hysterical - only because I've been there - but the rest is priceless. Enjoy

and I just found this new post - Sy Leonard and the Gravity Renegades - amazing work in front and behind the camera as usual.

And that's what I want my buggy NOT to look like:roll:

flexiblade - 17-1-2010 at 09:43 PM

Oh come on, some racing stripes and maybe some light effects - some 20" rims and that bug would be dope!

power - 17-1-2010 at 10:04 PM

Haha. I love that second video you posted. Thats some awesome stuff.

seems that someone removed the second video - so I guess we'll have to suffer watching the dude getting ejected from his homebrew, meh.

Too bad - the two ends of the skill spectrum, side by side for comparison, was good food for thought.

I wonder if he felt enlightened as his body was being dragged along the ground with the kite flailing toward the power lines? Enlightened or at least excited - assuming he was still conscious.

What size/type of kite is that? I doesn't look that big. Certainly reinforces the need to approach the sport with caution, respect - and knowledge.

I'm a noob. My 11m Neo instills fear in me. That's a good thing.

PHREERIDER - 18-1-2010 at 09:30 AM

the first was funny
2nd is closed ..it must have been good

flexiblade - 18-1-2010 at 12:06 PM

The first video looks like he's flying a 4 - 5m radsail. Gusty conditions or his flying skills make for entertaining learning - hope he's ok though - looked like a dump that could be walked, or limped, away from.

The Gravity Renegades video is on Sy's website, SylenzFilms. That vid has been one of my favorites for quite some time and usually one of the ones I show to people who ask about kiting or my buggy. He's got a lot of good vids, definitely worth checking out.

homemade buggy=$100
clothes and hat for kiting=$55
mediocre 5m fb kite=$200
having the good sense to let go=PRICELESS

flexiblade - 18-1-2010 at 11:58 PM

In the Sy Leonard video the "look" at 3:21 and the kite loop at 4:12 are priceless.
