So last weekend was awesome. I got a total of 8 hoursof kiting in, 5 on Saturday, and 3 on Sunday. The winds weren't the greatest, but strong enough
to pull me around. I think that I may have gone to hard to fast though. All week long I've had a constant pain in my right wrist. At first it felt
like I had a great workout and my arms were both sore like that. The pain in myleft6 arm has left, but my right has gotten slightly worse. The way I
described it to my aunt sounded similar to how she feels when her carpal tunnel is acting up. Most of the pain is at the center base of my wrist/hand.
I made a doctors appointment for early next week. My thinking is that I just strained it not being use to hanging on to the bar for so long, but we'll
see what the doc says. At times it was hard to put pressure when squeezing my thumb and index finger together. I just hopes it feels better soon, so I
can get back at it. Has anyone else had this happen to them due to kiting or other sport??

just part of the road... the workouts at intensity expose old injuries and stress any weak points... some of it will go away, not all in general the
older you are the more of that pain will stick around, the younger you are the better you are at bouncing back and strengthening up over time...
In other words you're getting into the nitty gritty now... if the pains get worse it becomes risk management. For me flying steady is a balancing act
with various body pains.
rest days are needed at times, three or four days or so, to let things heal up!
been good to see you get going over the past few weeks... :bigok:

If at the very least you're just experiencing tendon pains then rest assured it'll go away eventually. I had killer "took my breath away" elbow pain
when I first started rock climbing but it was because tendons take 6 times as long to develop than muscles. So, as I was developing my climbing
muscles, the tendons were sceaming trying to catch up. Yoga helped me but I was into that for more than just the elbow pain.....still, it
helped....the focused stretching.
No overnight cure though.

I've heard of some pretty common whiplash like pain that results from jumpers straining their necks. I wonder if it was caused by your grip. Were
you on a bar with lots of pressure or on handles?

I recomment Ice packs and anti inflamatories like Ibuprofen or Naproxen. It can help decrease the inflamation caused by the over use. You might
massage your upper forearm too because sometimes pain from those little muscles can cause pain to go to your wrist. Best idea is to see your doctor
and get treatment like you already stated.
