Mmmm.....Cadbury Creme Eggs......

macboy - 2-2-2010 at 09:06 PM

<random>
Do you guys down south get these things? They're a jolt of sugar shock finished off with a slow melty milk chocolate shell.

They're kinda bad but so good all at the same time. A conflicted Easter time treat.

And smashed up malted milk balls scattered over ice cream :smug:

I always think that!! but they cant make em smaller every year!

Maven454 - 4-2-2010 at 05:29 AM

Honestly, I'd be okay them being a little bit smaller, they always seem to be a bit more than I want. What would be even better though, would be if the kept making the normal size for the people who want them and then made little bite sized ones too. Bite sized would be awesome, just pop it into your mouth and bite down for sugary goodness without the possibility of a mess!

B-Roc - 4-2-2010 at 06:56 AM

They do (or did) make bite sized ones. My wife bought them last year. They came in an 8 or 12 pack type set up - like a carton of eggs you'd buy at the grocery store but all individually wrapped like the normal ones.

Maven454 - 4-2-2010 at 08:38 AM

The only bite sized eggs that I've seen from Cadbury are the minis that are chocolate covered with a hard candy shell, as opposed to mini creme eggs. But I've never specifically looked, so... :dunno:

And thus begins Maven's Easter Egg Hunt for 2010.... (Sorry....couldn't resist)

ATB,

Drewculous - 4-2-2010 at 08:58 AM

man, keep talking about peeps and creme eggs.... the more i read... the less i want anything to do with them...

The thought of all that sugar, and the aching teeth... bla... makes my gut turn

who knew listening to a bunch of people pine over candy would be a good diet aid! lmao!!

(sorry bout the quality... its all i could find)

Maven454 - 4-2-2010 at 02:03 PM

When first introduced in Britain, the original Cadbury Creme Egg weighed 40 grams (1.4 oz) and contained 171.6 Calories. Cadbury Creme Eggs sold in the UK and Canada have remained at this size, but those sold by Hershey's in the United States have decreased in size since their introduction - before 2006 they are listed with a weight of 39 grams, while today they are listed at 34 grams.

During an interview on the April 4th, 2007 episode of Late Night with Conan O' Brien, actor B. J. Novak drew attention to the fact that American market Cadbury Creme Eggs have decreased in size from previous years, despite the claim on the Cadbury's website FAQ that the eggs were not getting smaller, but rather, "you've just grown up!" The site has since been updated to clarify that only American eggs have altered in size.

Cadbury UK has confirmed that there are no plans to make UK Creme Eggs any smaller.

rocfighter - 5-2-2010 at 05:46 AM

Have you noticed that three muskiteres bars keep getting bigger? They bragg in there adds that they are bigger. But they still weigh the same. They just fluff them more. What a scam

Kamikuza - 5-2-2010 at 06:26 AM

Cadbury stopped selling 1kg blocks of chocolate in NZ cos the Heart Foundation said it was a bad idea - too easy to sit down eat the whole thing in one go. Which it was.
Count your calories - and still eat crap so long as it all works out ;)

rocfighter - 5-2-2010 at 06:51 AM

My favorite chocolet snack is still penut M&M's. I keep a gumball machine full in the bedroom!! And a pile of change next to it! :singing:

Maven454 - 4-3-2010 at 03:38 PM

YAY! I found mini Cadbury Creme Eggs!!!

indigo_wolf - 4-3-2010 at 04:06 PM

Note to self #1: It doesn't take much to make Maven happy.

Note to self #2: Ohhh... running out of Post-It Notes, but have saved a fortune on wallpaper using office supplies.... Twofur!!!

ATB,

InvertedForce - 4-3-2010 at 05:25 PM

I gotta say, those cadbury eggs are gooood... HOWEVER, I much prefer the little candy-coated chocolate eggs, they're almost like M&Ms, but just a bit crunchier.

I need to hit the store and get my fix now... :bouncy:

rocfighter - 5-3-2010 at 05:38 AM

When I drove truck my drug of choice was chocolate covered espresso beans.

mmmm... good stuff
to bad they gotta cover those good crunchy little nuggets of "go" with all that nasty chocolate tho

rocfighter - 5-3-2010 at 09:15 AM

I think the chocolate causes the mouth the produce saliva and then wash the cofee down to do the trick. But it also is just sooo damned good!!

Same thing is happening with ice cream. They used to be 2 quarts then 1.75 and now 1.5  but still cost the same. Just trying to get more money out of us
