I offer this post as a tribute to the passing of Stephen Schafer who is reported to have died, recently, while kitesurfing in Florida, north of Miami,
on or about February 5th, while being attacked by sharks.
I wish to also recognize the bravery of lifeguard, Daniel Lund, who made a very courageous swim in an attempt to save Stephen from the vicious shark
attack, putting himself in great peril. Lund is reported to have suffered from a previous shark attack, himself, and risked his life to save Stephen
while there was blood in the water.

While I have never attempted kitesurfing, I admire Stephen's effort and love for the sport. I know there are many of you out there who have the same
passion. We all share in our love for kites, the wind, and the beautiful outdoors. We all should share compassion for Stephen because we know this
could have been us. Please join me in praying this never happens to anyone else.
Sincere condolences to family members and friends. Praise to Daniel Lund for his brave rescue attempt. We are proud of you, as you are a "hero" for
your courage. Very sorry you have to endure such a loss while on the job.
