8m to complete the quiver

tridude - 6-2-2010 at 08:54 AM

had a very nice high wind sesh Thurs wiith the 10m Synergy but Flysurfer has spoiled me. Looking for an 8m Pulse 2 for the 25-35mph dayz....................the Syn did really well but the upwind performance and minimal bar pressure with the FSers have spoiled me................A bit of overlap with the 12 Speed and 10m Pulse but thats not a bad thing.................let me hear from you if you have an 8m Pulse 2 or Psycho 3.................

Why not just try a 8m inflato??? I love Flysurfers for low and medium winds but when it's gusty, shifty, and strong. I would rather take an inflato.

Plus they are cheap........

the Pulse 2s are rock stable and our big winds are mostly constant.........................

I know, I know.... But when the wind is strong here in Chicago, we get big waves. If I drop the kite in the waves, I would much rather have an inflato that won't get tangled up, and I could separate from if all goes bad.

I got to go superman (fortunately in the water) in a 30 mph stable winds at Cap Hatteras last May

The pulse2 8m was unstable, it deflated, re-inflated and back in the wind, go superman !!! I crashed the kite kite so hard it broke in 3 places, powerzone repaired it and sold it to another client

since then, I fly a tube (North Rebel 8m) in these conditions. I like it better but it all depends. But since then I only had 2 occasions to fly the 8m. Most of the time on big kites

My quiver now is small kites = tubes, large kites = foils.

But I live inland and when it's very windy, it's also gusty especially in the winter

North Rebel 8, 11m
Flysurfer Speed3 19m deluxe on its way (just sold the SA2 19m)
Will soon also get a Speed3 12m.

would a Pulse1 7m be more fun ? I did enjoy this one though but not many around anymore

Psycho or Pulse? I had a custom 8m P3 from Dom and sold it....................that was worthy of a Darwin award............:lol:

tridude - 6-2-2010 at 03:46 PM

the 7m Pulse was way too much power on and off but I was a total newb at the time.......................I love my 10m Pulse

DenisLaMenace - 6-2-2010 at 03:57 PM

how can't you go upwind with a PL 10m.

when it's windy like this, I can go upwind with a umbrella

so it's just about bar pressure
:puzzled:

don, i was wondering where DOM's custom color 8m P3 went....yeah, you should have kept it... but that was afew years ago, just let me know if you want another shot at an 8m P3

the 7m pulse is a great kite no doubt, but the 8m p3 is a bit higher aspect than the pulses and therefore is more "fun" for air-hounds like myself.

there was still a brand new P3 8m until a month ago at the flysurfer local shop here. hummmm

a newbie grabbed it for snowkiting. may be I need to find out if he has given up ;-);-)

I stayed upwind but I go upwind on my FSers (make ground)........Ill talk with Nate about the 8m...........he is also interested in a 10m P4 for a graduation gift in May................................

powerzone - 6-2-2010 at 05:30 PM

well you guys can try both the 8m p3 and the 10m p4 when im there in march

tridude - 6-2-2010 at 05:41 PM

that sounds good.........................
