When I turned it on yesterday, only 0's showed up on the Wind Speed, Average and Max speeds. Other times it would show a windspeed and update the
average and max speeds but then stop measuring wind speed and the 0 would appear for the windspeed but it would still have numbers for the average and
max speeds. Turning it off and on did not help.
What I did notice is that the MX and AV symbols are blinking. I can't remember if this is normal or an indication of the battery being low (can't see
how that would be the case considering I read that it's supposed to last 10 years and I think I've had it for about 2 and the display is bright as
ever).
This morning I took the battery completely out and blew into the area and it seems to be working correctly for the moment.
Can anyone tell me if the AV and MX blinking are normal and if I should replace the battery?Insect0man - 8-2-2010 at 09:41 AM

That would be my guess.
And, FWIW, I wouldn't blow into the battery compartment. The moisture from your breath will condense on the electronic innards and contribute to
corrosion.PrairieWind - 8-2-2010 at 01:20 PM
Mine went funky about a month ago, there are different funk levels depending on the level of battery depletion. I changed the battery and it was
fine. If there was a battery level indicator that would make it easy... . Mine lasted 3 years.lunchbox - 8-2-2010 at 01:56 PM
