The Kite you now miss the most

lad - 8-2-2010 at 05:07 PM

I noticed a sub theme here when discussing kite preferences:namely,

"The ONE That Got Away"

AND...tell us what did it have that your current quiver doesn't (besides good memories)

So, I'll start first
(while I'm waiting for the snow to settle, and all the subsequent mud to dry)...

9.5 Montana II: zippy and pretty, but sacrificed to Arcmania. If I ever work my way up to more "pop" style riding (and get tired of folding sticks and inflating/deflating arcs) I'll keep an eye out for another, later model.

(How the heck do I edit the poll?) :puzzled:

I wish I still had my F-arc now that I'm familiar with the arcs quirks.

Sentimental reasons, or a certain quality the F-Arc had over all your present arcs?

12m phantom. Wish I wouldn't have traded it

Because it beat the crap out of me + was a complete pain to launch. Now that I understand the nature of the arcs I'm sure I could enjoy it a lot . I guess I sort of feel that kite got the better of me and I'ld like to prove to myself I'm capable of being IT'S master now.

+ it was a classic worth saving for history.

I LUV my 12m Phantom - just wish I had better winds for it more often.
Getting a 15m too and looking for a 6 or 9m.

Drewculous - 8-2-2010 at 10:20 PM

i still own every kite i ever purchased

lol!

you can have my phanny when you pry it from my dry, windblown, dead hands!!!
:puzzled:
...man i need to go to sleep, lol

I would say my 4.9m Blade III - was my favorite fixed bridle before the arcs took over. That kite was guaranteed to scare the crap out of me at least once every time I flew it. A log ate it at the beach and never had it fixed before I switched my kite fetish. I still have it but can't bring myself to sell an old friend - just needs about 4 of the bridle points sewed back on - but even if I had it fixed I would probably rarely fly it. Shame.

My Blade III 6.6 is the only kite I've sold so I guess that even though I only miss it a teeny-weeny bit, it qualifies

Still got the crappy fiberglass rod DIY jobbie kite I made wa-aay back in 1992

ripsessionkites - 9-2-2010 at 06:03 AM

airea raptor I 5.5m

BeamerBob - 9-2-2010 at 08:40 AM

Almost every kite I've sold has been replaced by the newer model except the Blade IV 6.5m. My flying interests don't require a Blade any more but that is just a beautiful kite that was a treat to fly and observe in the sky.

the one kite that i miss is my venom 13m . . . it was the first arc that i owned and it was great, speedy and reliable and also could go way up there in the wind speeds. I would love to have one again, it would compliment my 15m synergy VERY well :).

it's only been 4 days this guy with the green fluo jacket borrowed my SA2 19m and he is not gonna give it back to me.

Interesting ! I don't think I'll ever sell mine but the poor thing isn't getting any attention lately. It really is a shame

'05 10m Nemesis one of the few tubes never had to repair and valves worked perfect every time, so the fill was painless and quick.

very fast powerful little kite , loop like xxxcrazy. around 25mph on the water was champion. for a c-kite in the right wind really gave me access to apex speed and quickness. the reason i sold it ...because it was the only tube kite i had that was ready to go and sell-able and wanted to move it while it was fresh, and already on the arcs and did not want to pump any more. i'm sold on the no pump show but have a fuel 13m for those doubtful moments.
