cheaper the better.Scudley - 10-2-2010 at 08:06 PM
I think you have to say what kind of camera body it is to know what lens fits it.

If you really want fisheye on the cheap, hit home depot and get a big peeper for the front door.
But yes, to give you a better idea, what camera do you have? what lens attach?indigo_wolf - 10-2-2010 at 09:24 PM
Not a pro... just wonkish
Definitely need to know what kind of mount you are working with.
Very fond of the Sigma EX line of fisheyes. Good bang for the buck. Available in various mounts. Look into a diagonal fisheye if you want the wide
angle without as much of the image curvature.
Cheap is a relative term.
B&H Used Annex is a good place to pick up deals and the rating system is accurate.
A Sigma Zoom Super Wide Angle 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 EX Aspherical DG DF Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF-D with a 9/10 rating for condition is going for about
$369. Faster, fixed length fisheyes with similar condition ratings are going to 1.5 to 2 times that.
Larger shops will let you rent a lens (if they have it in their rental inventory) if you narrrow it down to one or two that you want, so you can try
before you buy.

And if you're not in too much of a hurry you can watch places like Kijiji. I scored a killer lens for our Pentax (200mm) for under a hundred bucks!
Not a super fast lens but wicked on bright days and nice lunar shots. Gets maybe 60% frame fill from the moon. Maybe 50%.macboy - 10-2-2010 at 09:34 PM
Just saw your post in the auto-zenith. Sounds like you're looking for a lens for a video camera? Or is it one of the new SLRs that shoots video as
well?csa_deadon - 10-2-2010 at 09:38 PM
I believe I heard him say something about a new fisher-price camera. Something about the only one small enough for his hands. indigo_wolf - 10-2-2010 at 10:02 PM

As it isn't set to be released for a little bit... well... another NDA bites the dust.

Canon apparently has the largest market share so you'll have no problems finding lenses for it ... poor ol' Pentax doesn't but I won't worry too much
cos I got 2/3 of the price knocked off mine :D
I was actually considering a Rebel, but here they're called the Kiss X-something ... X3 is the new one.redtailin - 11-2-2010 at 05:49 PM
I havent been in the camera scene in a while, but see if you can find a fisheye adapter. It isnt as nice as an actual fisheye lens, but 60 vs 600
dollars made the decision easy for me. I dont know what you will find for a DSLR, or if you can even do it. I had one on a Canon SX20is, and it
worked pretty well. Look on the the lens you would put it on and find the diameter and order one that just screws on.SCREWYFITS - 12-2-2010 at 03:23 AM
Rip is wanting to take pictures of all the pink skirts at NABX this year...
