Whats the point of browsing the boards as an invisible member? Scared someone will find out you like to fly kites? Or your wife will use it against
you in divorce court?

If it is a board that is prone to a lot of spam, it boils down to whether you like to receive a lot of spam pm/u2u's. Most of the spammers that make
their short visits to PKF seem to restrict themselves to posting, but that's not the case everywhere. Some spammers pull the active users list and
send spam through private messages.
I know there are fair amount of kite widows.... not sure how many kite divorcées there are.

"Invisible Members" = "Lurkers" in internet jargon
=====
"In Internet culture, a lurker is a person who reads discussions on a message board, newsgroup, chatroom, file sharing or other interactive system,
but rarely or never participates actively. Also known as task4z. Research indicates that "lurkers make up over 90% of online groups""

i lurked here for like a day, then was like "damn, chill group... i'm in"

"Lurking" is like window shopping for women. Sometimes they just look around in the store but don't actually buy anything. Of course, many men would
say, what's the point of going in the store if you weren't going to buy anything they sell? An important note as well is that if a fight breaks out
at the makeup counter the best vantage point may be from outside the window;-)

Few things are more dangerous than ballistic cosmetics.
Heaven forbid you get tagged with the "scent of the week".... you might as well just start a bonfire for your clothes on the spot (but hopefully only
if replacements are readily at hand... pesky decency laws and all that ).
