The Advance Kites team had something similar but only run 3 skiis.
does the 4 skiis really improve going on surface like that. I think running 3 would be a little easier to control.Insect0man - 19-2-2010 at 11:02 AM
Seems to me that on snow/powder the distribution of weight among 4 points rather than 3 would be advantageous.
Might be a trade off on turning radius though?Insect0man - 19-2-2010 at 11:06 AM
Gee I hope whatever it was that fell off at 2:32 wasn't important!lad - 19-2-2010 at 11:17 AM
Looks like it was only going downwind most of the time.Drewculous - 19-2-2010 at 11:17 AM
cool cool
lets see some speed runs tho stetson05 - 19-2-2010 at 11:19 AM
I know my 4 wheel buggy is a little harder to control because when something slows one wheel it tends to turn. Not too much of a problem considering
the price but that snow buggy didn't look cheap.krumly - 20-2-2010 at 09:05 AM
Gotta love the 'Iceracer' moniker and jammin' soundtrack as they crawl along at walking pace. Cool unit, but looks a lot like a lot of really
expensive engineering.
Far different from the independent suspension rock-crawler approach we just saw:
They arrived where they are now after protoyping with the Lynn KiteSled

What a mish mash of stuff to go wrong!
If I tried to run with that set up I would have everything tangled so bad whatever was supposed to be my safety wouldn't work.
I'm off to meet KC triple eight and His ( much simpler ) ice buggy at Mamette Lake! :bigok:vwbrian - 20-2-2010 at 09:30 AM
Looks like he needs a bigger kite.snowspider - 22-2-2010 at 08:07 PM
Just so there is no confusion , that thing did not give birth to my little snowspider!bobalooie57 - 7-3-2010 at 04:45 PM
Today I took my PL Comp STD buggy out on the slush/ice on Chaumont Bay. Using my 2M Beamer, while Jan and Jackie on skis were using 6M and 4M
Access'. What a blast! I could grab just enough to work my way upwind, and proceeded to make many reaches back and forth across the bay, working
upwind all the while, then some screaming reaches back downwind to Jan's kitelodge. Jan was nice enough to snap a few pics.

Ice wind and weather conditions were pretty much perfect fri,sat ,sunday. Got up to 34.8mph on hard ice fri befor going in to work . Was on
Skaneateles lake in the village all day sat. got a sunburned face out of it.Sunday I had the sled, my son Morgan and his friend on short skis tearing
up all of Onondaga lake. I got him a new 5m HQ Apex. At one point I'm cuising allong pretty good thinking "I'm going to catch him like he's standing
still" he had the his kite up high, and mine low, so I came in close to pass him and suddenly realize the kid is sking backwards full speed with his
brand new out of the box kite. We put on a good show for the visitors at Onondaga Lake Park that day.
