Not surprisingly, the SA is just what the doctor ordered. Today was one of those "got out out there and the wind saw me coming so it disappeared"
days. We held a little vigil and an hour or so later the wind came back enough to get the kites airborne. So off I went on my merry way.
Now, I can't say what the wind was but I'd guess it was peaking around 6kts? It'd gust to maybe 8 but lull to next to nothing. First thing I noticed?
P-O-W-E-R. Way more power than I'd expect from a light wind day. Shocking really. Not sure how to handle a transition on a big rig like that in light
winds, I cautiously slowed to a stop the the end of each leg to turn around making sure the kite stayed in the sky. Imagine my surprise to find that
despite this monster hovering above me, there was NO wind to be felt. That thing just floated up there......seriously. It SHOULDN'T have been flying
if I knew any better.
VERY happy to have it in the quiver. Very very happy. I'm sure as I get more comfortable with it I'll be rewarded with plenty of effortless airtime.
Gotta tighten the skirt a bit first ; )
Here's a sneak peek - I'll get around to the video sometime soon.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the thing. I didn't even mention that the GPS had logged a max speed of 36km/h.....surely in a gust but really
- it couldn't have been blowing over 8kts. I wish I could find a meter that I could set up stationary to log the wind peaks & valleys while I'm
out there.
Love the arcs, don't get me wrong but when they won't lift off the ground I'm set here.

Damn!!!!
Now I know what I want for next Christmas. :wink2: Amazing how low of winds you can get going on these things. Does anyone know how much difference in
flyability for low winds there is between older models and the Speed three is. Feeling the stoke very much man.

Hey Macboy
I have to agree with you on the windspeed out there Sunday. And I was impressed how your kite was always in the air while I was working the crap out
of mine to kept in the air.
But it was a beautiful Sunny day, if only wind would have lasted a little longer.
It was really great meeting you and Birch and hope to see you out there again in the near future.

nice...........great kites indeed...................whats even more amazing is given the proper board size, 6 to 8kts is very doable on
water..................10 mph with apparent wind/speed will have you popping to 10 foot jumps...................
